|---|---|
| Tatsumi Koutarou | Miyano Mamoru |
| Minamoto Sakura | Hondo Kaede |
| Nikaidou Saki | Tano Asami |
| Mizuno Ai | Taneda Risa |
| Konno Junko | Kawase Maki |
| Yuugiri | Kinugawa Rika |
| Hoshikawa Lily | Tanaka Minami |
| Yamada Tae | Mitsuishi Kotono |
This event marked a truly special occasion, as it was the first time Mitsuishi Kotono-san, Miyano Mamoru-san, and all the members of Franchouchou gathered together. The packed audience was brimming with excitement even before the cast took their places, erupting into thunderous applause and cheers. The voice actors further fueled the frenzy by delivering greetings in character, creating an electrifying atmosphere where performers and audience became one.
As the venue pulsed with anticipation for the film’s completion after a four-year wait, Hondo Kaede-san, voicing Minamoto Sakura, delightedly exclaimed, “I can really feel the fans’ enthusiasm!” She shared her deep emotion, stating, “It’s a miracle to be standing on this stage with these members!” Meanwhile, Miyano Mamoru-san, fully embodying his role as Tatsumi Koutarou even in appearance, expressed his profound gratitude to the sold-out audience, calling them “Legendary customers!”
When a fan enthusiastically shouted “Saikou!” (meaning “The greatest!” or “Awesome!”) in response to the film’s perceived quality, Tanaka Minami-san, the voice of Hoshikawa Lily, jubilantly cried, “I’m so happy! I might actually cry!” Kawase Maki-san, who plays Konno Junko, then playfully implored the audience, “No spoilers for a month until the theatrical release, okay?!” To this, Miyano-san, ever the joker, quipped, “Well, you can say it if you want to! As long as it’s funny, right?!” This lighthearted remark sent the entire hall into peals of laughter.
Reflecting on the reunion, Miyano Mamoru-san expressed his joy, saying, “I haven’t been able to participate in events myself until now, and the voice recording sessions were all separate. Is this the first time we’ve all gathered together since the wrap-up party for the first season? It’s been a really long time, so I’m incredibly happy to be reunited.” Regarding the theatrical film, he proudly declared, “I was deeply moved!” and conveyed his confidence, adding, “I believe the intricate story and powerfully immersive visuals, crafted over four years of planning, truly resonated with everyone.”
A Trip Down Memory Lane: Franchouchou’s Mansion Basement Talk Corner
Adding a unique touch to the stage greeting, seven pipe chairs – rather unconventional for such an event – were brought out to recreate the iconic basement room of the Western-style mansion where Franchouchou resides in the series. The voice actors then took their designated spots for a special “Zombieland Saga Mansion Basement Recreation Talk Corner,” much to the delight of the audience.
During this special segment, Miyano Mamoru-san, still channeling Tatsumi Koutarou’s energetic persona, posed the burning question, “How much do you want this movie to be a hit!?” Hondo Kaede-san eagerly responded, “As much as Ootani Shouhei-senshuu!” (referring to the world-renowned baseball player), playfully pleading for a global-level hit. When asked about her highlights from the film, Kawase Maki-san cheekily revealed, “I can drive! I have a license!” which Miyano Mamoru-san found satisfying, declaring it “a good line of spoiler!” Taneda Risa-san, the voice of Mizuno Ai, then sparked even more anticipation with a cryptic answer: “The lasers from my fingers increased from one to five! I can’t say what they are though…” This tantalizing hint sent ripples of excitement through the hall, further hyping the theatrical release.
When asked about the quintessential “Zombieland Saga-ness,” Tanaka Minami-san appealed to the audience for their agreement, asserting, “Even with the time gap after seasons 1 and 2, Zombieland Saga is still Zombieland Saga, right?! You understand, don’t you?!” Her question was met with thunderous cheers of affirmation. Kinugawa Rika-san, who voices Yuugiri, teased, “At first, there are many things that don’t make sense, but it all comes together to create a truly wonderful work in the end. It definitely won’t betray your expectations, and it will make you cry!” Adding to the excitement, Mitsuishi Kotono-san, the voice of Yamada Tae, expressed her profound sentiment, “Everything is jam-packed! It went above and beyond my wildest imagination. I was incredibly moved when I read the script.”
Delving into his journey of portraying Tatsumi Koutarou in the TV series, Miyano Mamoru-san shared with a laugh, “Initially… I thought it was a rather suspicious project.” However, he continued, “But when I dove into it, it was packed with comedic elements, and when I performed with all my energy, the director said, ‘That’s it!’ So, I acted without any hesitation, and this is the wonderful result we have today.”
The other voice actors were quick to chime in with their resounding approval, proclaiming, “Only Miyano-san can do it!” Miyano Mamoru-san then humbly attributed their success to the fans, stating, “It’s all thanks to the fans. Because everyone accepted it, embraced it, and cheered for us, we were able to make it all the way to a theatrical film.” His heartfelt words underscored the deep appreciation the cast holds for their passionate supporters.
Franchouchou’s Grand Ambitions: A Future Beyond Death!
When asked about Franchouchou’s future aspirations, the dreams of the cast soared even higher! Tano Asami-san, the voice of Nikaidou Saki, declared with conviction, “I want to stand on the Nippon Budoukan stage!” Tanaka Minami-san expressed her desire for “a cheer screening for this movie!” while Taneda Risa-san passionately exclaimed, “I want to watch it in 4DX!”
With international fans also present in the audience, Mitsuishi Kotono-san boldly envisioned, “Let’s make this theatrical film a huge hit and go on a world tour! I want to visit all six continents!” echoing the grand scale of the franchise’s aspirations. Taneda Risa-san reaffirmed this sentiment, asserting, “Zombieland Saga cannot end yet!” Miyano Mamoru-san then rallied the full house, stating, “If the fans continue to support us, the Zombieland Saga production team is full of people who always want to do something new, so making this movie a hit is your mission!” His words were a call to action, urging fans to help Franchouchou achieve even greater heights.
During the photo session, an extraordinary phenomenon occurred: the audience clapped along in rhythm to the background music, a clear testament to their profound connection with the series. Unlike typical completion announcement events, this stage greeting felt truly imbued with the unique atmosphere of Zombieland Saga itself, and before anyone knew it, the memorable event drew to a close.
In her final remarks, Hondo Kaede-san conveyed her gratitude, saying, “You all waited for about four years, and I’m sure you had a mix of anxious and excited feelings. But we can proudly say that the production team created an amazing original story from scratch over those four years, resulting in a truly wonderful film. Please watch it many times, and let’s continue to liven up Saga Prefecture and Zombieland Saga!” Her heartfelt message encouraged fans to immerse themselves in the new cinematic experience and continue their support.
Miyano Mamoru-san also shared his closing thoughts, emphasizing, “The powerful visuals, stunning music, and deeply moving moments unique to a theatrical film await you. There are scenes that will stir your heart precisely because it’s Zombieland Saga, where you can witness everyone’s genuine dedication. I am always incredibly impressed by what they can achieve precisely because they are zombies. While sadness is interwoven into their story, the way these girls embrace what only zombies can do and resolutely move forward is incredibly cool. I sincerely hope that image reaches countless people. Please continue to support Zombieland Saga in the future!” His powerful words perfectly encapsulated the spirit and emotional depth that fans have come to expect from the franchise, building immense anticipation for the movie’s release.
