`Kusuriya no Hitorigoto` Holds First Original Work Exhibition! Sneak Peeks of New Stories, Photo Spots, and Exclusive Merchandise Revealed
The first large-scale original work exhibition for `Kusuriya no Hitorigoto`, titled “Shousetsu Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Gensakuten Doku to Kusuri, Kagaku to Mystery” (Novel `Kusuriya no Hitorigoto` Original Work Exhibition: Poisons and Medicine, Science and Mystery), is set to enchant fans from December 5th to December 25th, 2025, at Space 634 in Tokyo Solamachi. An exciting area map has just been unveiled, revealing some of the incredible highlights awaiting attendees.

Set in the `Koukyuu` (rear palace), `Kusuriya no Hitorigoto` is an immensely popular mystery entertainment series that follows the sharp-witted `Maomao`, a young girl who uses her extensive knowledge of poisons and medicine to solve various perplexing cases. The series has sold over 40 million copies, with 16 volumes of the original novel currently available. Its captivating story has also inspired two manga adaptations by Square Enix and Shogakukan.
The TV anime adaptation, which aired its second season starting in January 2025, consistently ranked at the top across numerous streaming platforms. It achieved an astounding clean sweep in the “ABEMA 2025 Anime First Half Ranking,” securing the #1 spot in the “Overall Anime Playback Ranking,” “New Anime Playback Ranking,” and across all age categories (teens, 20s, and 30s+) in the “Age-Based Anime Playback Ranking.”
The series also won the Grand Prize at the “TikTok First Half Trend Awards 2025,” showcasing its widespread appeal to all generations. Its popularity extends globally, too; on “Crunchyroll,” North America’s leading anime streaming service, the series impressively claimed the #1 spot in the April 2025 ranking, surpassing many action-packed titles. The excitement for the series reached new heights on October 22nd, its second anniversary, when the production of a third TV anime season and a theatrical movie was announced, becoming a trending topic across social media.
The “Shousetsu Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Gensakuten Doku to Kusuri, Kagaku to Mystery” exhibition commemorates the 11th anniversary of the original novel’s publication. It’s a special exhibition that offers a deep dive into the enchanting world created by original author `Hyuuga Natsu` and the stunning illustrations by `Shino Touko`. The exhibition approaches the series through the intriguing lens of “Poisons and Medicine, Science and Mystery,” offering attendees a chance to explore fully original, never-before-seen episodes and behind-the-scenes secrets that further enrich the novel’s universe. This marks the first major original work exhibition for `Kusuriya no Hitorigoto`, transforming the act of “reading” the story into an immersive “experience.”

To prepare for its opening, the exhibition’s overall area map has been unveiled. The venue will feature numerous “immersion points into the original world,” including:
- A “Storyline Exhibition” that unravels the series’ history and worldbuilding.
- “Deep Dive” exhibits exploring the mysteries behind the various incidents in the story.
- Displays and explanations of key items from the series.
- A special exhibition tracing the evolution of character relationships.
- Photo spots perfect for commemorative photos, alongside exclusive, never-before-seen merchandise.
The exhibition is designed to offer a multi-dimensional experience of the captivating charm of Shousetsu `Kusuriya no Hitorigoto`.

At this exhibition, the series will be thoroughly dissected in an “incident-by-incident” format, enriched by `Hyuuga Natsu`’s unique insights and behind-the-scenes anecdotes. Special exhibits will decode the main incidents from the TV anime’s second season, introduce beloved characters with episode highlights and relationship charts, and even delve into the creative process behind the original novels. This promises a fresh perspective on the series’ allure.
One of the exhibition’s biggest draws will be the completely new, original episodes penned by `Hyuuga Natsu` herself, which will be specially unveiled on a weekly rotating basis. Furthermore, visitors will receive an exclusive leaflet containing these short stories, ensuring a truly unique “story experience that only this original work exhibition can offer.”
