May 25th is known as “Terminator Day”.
This記念日 (kinenbi – memorial day/anniversary) originates from the movie Terminator being released in Japan on the same day in 1985. The artificial human, T-800, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, left a significant impact on many viewers.
Androids, created to mimic the appearance of humans, appear frequently in anime as well. Even if their appearance is entirely human, they might lack emotions, have various weapons hidden within their bodies, yearn to be human and imitate their behavior, or even discover halfway through the story that they are not human… The ways these characters are depicted are incredibly diverse.
So, Anime! Anime! will be holding a reader survey titled “Who Comes to Mind When You Think of ‘Android’ Characters?”, continuing from last year. Please answer in a free-response format, telling us the character and title that comes to your mind.
※ Eligible characters are those from anime works (TV broadcast, movies, streaming, OVA, etc.), games, CD series, manga, and other 2D content.
※ Please respond only once per person.
Basic information like gender and age are optional fields, and you can leave them unanswered. Feel free to participate everyone!
