In this broadcast, a segment called “REIJI’s BAKA Level? All-Time YOASOBI Regular Knowledge Quiz” was conducted to test Kawashima’s level of being “baka” (foolish or silly), tackling questions that have troubled previous YOASOBI MCs. Additionally, as this week’s topic, Kawashima revealed a shocking, never-before-shared episode.

Kawashima Reiji Confesses a Shocking, Never-Before-Shared Episode: “I Could See My Bank Account Balance Approaching ‘Zero'”

At the beginning of the program, Kawashima shared a shocking, never-before-shared episode. As a new MC, Kawashima is sharing his weekly topics in the opening, titled “First Reveal! This Week’s Kawashima Reiji Topics,” to help viewers get to know him better. However, this week he confessed, “This week might be a bit extreme…” and blurted out, “I could see my bank account balance approaching ‘Zero’.”

Known for his great love of clothes, Kawashima explained to a bewildered Seki-san, who asked “What do you mean?” and “What?! But you’re working!”, that “Partly because I got married and bought a ring, and I was buying clothes at my usual pace, for the first time in several years, zero was visible… And then the advance payment for my pension just happened! So, it depends on this month’s pay (laughs).” Seki-san cut straight to the point, “Does that mean you’re spending money that doesn’t match your earnings? Then you are ‘baka’! If it was just clothes, you could manage, so it’s the ring’s fault, right?!” Kawashima was taken aback, and the studio was filled with laughter.

Kawashima later said that he managed to scrape by this month and his balance was just enough. When Seki-san asked, “What are you going to do about this zero?”, Kawashima showed some remorse, saying, “It means I bought too many clothes. I could sell them and manage.” He then looked towards his manager and called out, “Kawashima of this month and next month will work hard! I have no choice but to work hard! Manager-san, are you listening from the dressing room?!” which brought even more laughter to the studio.

Defeat the Past MCs?! Verifying Kawashima Reiji’s “Baka” Level

During the program, a segment titled “REIJI’s BAKA Level? All-Time YOASOBI Regular Knowledge Quiz” was held. In the previous two broadcasts, “baka suspicions” had already been raised about Kawashima. So, the quiz aimed to test his “baka” level compared to the representative “baka” MCs of previous seasons by presenting questions that had stumped them in the past.

At the start, VTRs of previous “baka” MCs, mainly Nakamara Shuugo and Hatakeyama Yuusuke, were shown, and Kawashima expressed his enthusiasm saying, “Are you sure you want to do this?!” However, he got the very first question wrong: “Who is the novelist who wrote ‘Hashire Merosu’?”, which is featured in elementary school Japanese textbooks. Furthermore, in a geography question asking him to color in 5 prefectures that contain an island, Kawashima could only identify one, causing a stir in the studio.

After seeing comments from the viewers, Seki-san told him, “The viewers are starting to think, ‘This might be a monster!'” and announced, “The shock is strong, so we will verify your ‘baka’ level step by step.”

Then, the final question of the day was one previously given to Hatakeyama Yuusuke: “Use the tools in the studio to get a peanut out of a narrow tube.” This was a question that even a chimpanzee could answer, but Hatakeyama couldn’t, causing shock in the studio. Kawashima also tried eagerly, saying, “I’m the physical type,” inhaling strongly and tapping the tube, but the peanut wouldn’t come out, and he held his head, saying, “Eh, this is hard!”

However, after looking around the studio, he noticed something and exclaimed, “It’s buoyancy!” He successfully floated the peanut out with water. Thus, it was proven that Kawashima is not as “baka” as Hatakeyama. Looking forward to the next verification, he declared, “Let’s beat Shuugo-san!” and energized the studio.
