New Visual for “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto” Unveiled for May: Nekomama, Ko Ran, and Shisui Enjoying Wisteria
The second season of the TV anime “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto” is currently broadcasting every Friday at 23:00 on Nippon Terebi’s “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT”. As part of the project “Nekomama, Jinshi to Meguru Shiki” (Nekomama and Jinshi Touring the Seasons), which delivers a new visual each month on the 22nd, “Nekomama Day”, featuring seasonal plants, the visual for May, themed “Wisteria x Nekomama, Ko Ran, and Shisui”, has been released.
“Kusuriya no Hitorigoto” Season 2: A Recap and Recent Buzz
“Kusuriya no Hitorigoto” is based on the light novel series by Natsume Hyuuga, published under Hi-roo Bunko by Imagica Infos, which has also spawned manga adaptations in “Biggu Gangan” and “Sandee GX”. The series boasts a cumulative total of over 40 million copies sold. Set in a medieval East Asian-inspired court, the story follows Nekomama, a young woman who serves as a “poison taster” and solves various perplexing incidents within the palace.
The second season, which began airing in January 2025, has garnered significant attention, consistently ranking high on various streaming platforms. Furthermore, the first-ever exhibition, “TV Anime ‘Kusuriya no Hitorigoto’ Exhibition”, started on March 26th, and a collaboration event at Universal Studios Japan is scheduled for this summer, indicating the series’ surging popularity.

The Eleventh Seasonal Visual: Springtime Under the Wisteria
The eleventh visual in the “Nekomama, Jinshi to Meguru Shiki” project, released this time for May, is themed around wisteria, a flower that adds beautiful color to late spring. The visual depicts a heartwarming scene: Ko Ran is happily listening to Shisui’s story, her mouth full of dango under the shade of the wisteria flowers. Shisui is engrossed in chatting, seemingly forgetting about the dango, while Nekomama listens attentively to Shisui’s tale with a gentle smile. It’s a lovely visual capturing the three friends enjoying a spring day filled with cheerful conversation and dancing flower petals carried on the breeze. Social Media Campaign
Alongside the visual release, an X (formerly Twitter) follow and repost campaign is also underway. Five participants who follow the official TV anime “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto” X account and repost the target post will be selected by lottery to receive a card featuring this new visual.
