On June 4, 2025, voice actor Nakamura Yuuichi-san posted a cryptic image on X (formerly Twitter) that could only be read as “に選ばれ” (ni eraba re), meaning “was chosen by” or “was selected for.” This might be about the results of the Nintendo Switch 2 lottery.

Nakamura Yuuichi-san has been making headlines with his various (and often amusing) antics whenever the “Switch 2” lottery results are announced.

Just recently, he reported that he had unfortunately lost the third Nintendo lottery drawing once again. However, he left a similarly cryptic message on X: “ではあるが しかし…？” (dewa aru ga shikashi…?) meaning “Although, however…?”.

Following up on that mysterious “ではあるが しかし…？” (dewa aru ga shikashi…?), he posted the image readable as “に選ばれ” (ni eraba re) (was chosen by). Just what exactly was he chosen for?

Though probably unrelated, there is a past instance where Nakamura Yuuichi-san was chosen as the Warrior of Light (as he is also a player of Final Fantasy XIV).

So, what exactly was Nakamura Yuuichi-san “に選ばれ” (ni eraba re) for…? Did he finally win the coveted “Switch 2” at some store’s lottery, or was it for something completely different, like perhaps being chosen for a new role audition as a voice actor?
