About Kusuriya no Hitorigoto
Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is based on the popular light novel series by Hyuuga Natsu, published under Hero Bunko by Imagica Infos. It’s also been adapted into manga series published in “Big Gangan” and “Sunday GX,” with the entire series boasting over 40 million copies sold cumulatively. Set in a fictional medieval East Asian imperial court, this is a captivating mystery entertainment story centered around Maomao, a young woman serving as a “poison taster” who finds herself solving various complex cases within the palace walls.
Second Season’s Success and Events
The TV anime’s second season, which premiered in January 2025, has garnered significant attention, consistently ranking high on various streaming platforms. The second cour kicked off in April. Beyond the broadcast, the first-ever “TV Anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Exhibition” is currently touring, and a collaboration event is scheduled for Universal Studios Japan this summer, further highlighting the series’ growing popularity.
New Visual and Special Video Unveiled
Ahead of the broadcast of episode 46, “Kingun,” a striking new visual and a special video have been released. The latest visual depicts Jinshi leading the Imperial Guard (Kingun) to suppress the Shi clan. His hair is tied up high, adorned with a red hairpin symbolizing his royal status, and he’s clad in impressive purple armor. The visual is particularly impactful for showcasing Jinshi’s determined gaze as he looks into the distance.
