ABEMA Launches Project PRISMation to Foster Next-Gen Anime Creators
Kicking off on December 26, 2025, ABEMA – that innovative platform often called the future of television – has unveiled an exciting new venture: Project PRISMation. This initiative is all about collaborating with the next wave of anime talent to cook up some fresh, original anime. For this debut round, they’ve gathered three creative teams from across the globe, with their works set to premiere starting January 16, 2026.
ABEMA’s Ongoing Commitment to Anime
ABEMA has built a solid rep not just by streaming tons of popular anime, but also through original programs like Seiyuu to Yoasobi and SHIBUYA ANIME BASE, plus hosting offline mega-events like the “ABEMA Anime Festival.” They’ve consistently delivered anime charm from every angle.
Particularly through SHIBUYA ANIME BASE, they’ve run unique interviews with diverse creators in the industry, and at the “ABEMA Anime Festival,” spotlighted creators have engaged in talk events discussing “indie anime” from various perspectives and held screenings. They’ve been proactive in focusing on creator-centric projects.
What is Project PRISMation All About?
This newly launched Project PRISMation is a co-creation effort with creators who produce animation works individually or in small, elite teams, aiming to develop pilot films for original anime. The project seeks to support story creation that lingers in viewers’ hearts and creative processes that stimulate the creators themselves.
The name Project PRISMation comes from “PRISM” and “Animation.” Just as white light separates into a spectrum of colors through a prism, it embodies the idea of providing a place where diverse talents gather and shine brightly as anime works.

Meet the Inaugural Creators and Their Works
The first wave of participating creators features three groups: Zemyata, a creator based in Thailand known for vivid colors and a dark, pop worldview; Uguisu Koubou (which can be translated as Nightingale Workshop), an animation production collective formed mainly by graduates of Musashino Art University’s Video Department; and rapitus, a creator unit consisting of two people, RaPis and Tus, residing in Vietnam.
ABEMA has co-created original anime pilot films with Zemyata and Uguisu Koubou, and with rapitus, new footage related to their buzzworthy short work Gluttomy. These three works will be released consecutively for three weeks starting January 16 on ABEMA and the official Project PRISMation social media accounts.

Additionally, a special feature on these three works will be included in SHIBUYA ANIME BASE, ABEMA’s original anime/pop culture information program, airing from 21:00 on January 16. This project will continue beyond this year, with plans to engage in co-creations with various creators annually and start new project submissions from both domestic and international creators around May 2026. Details will be announced sequentially, so stay tuned for updates!
Creator Comments
Zemyata

“I’ve mainly worked on music videos, so I’m super excited to be able to present a work centered on dialogue for the first time! As a huge horror fan, I’m always exploring the combination of ‘cute’ and ‘scary.’ I hope the pilot for this web series, Poppin-Play Kitchen, manages to achieve both elements!”
rapitus

“Gluttomy is the first work we poured our passion into creating, and we hope it delivers the fun those pink-haired twins gave us to all of you too!”
Uguisu Koubou

“It’s a short cartoon work that humorously depicts the daily life of a strange family of three, weaving in Japanese and Western horror tropes and homages to famous horror films. The highlights are the high-paced content and the unique atmospheric art style!”
