A collaboration T-shirt is here, born from the TV anime Koukakukidoutai STAND ALONE COMPLEX and “City Ambient Products,” a new label spearheaded by the long-established select shop, SHIPS. General sales are set to begin on June 14, 2025.
About the Koukakukidoutai Series
The sci-fi manga Koukakukidoutai, which Shirou Masamune began serializing in “Young Magazine Zookan Kaizokuban” in 1989, has garnered immense popularity for its world view and received high praise overseas. It has been adapted into various visual media multiple times, including the 1995 film GHOST IN THE SHELL/Koukakukidoutai, which was highly acclaimed globally, the 26-episode TV anime Koukakukidoutai STAND ALONE COMPLEX that aired from 2002, the four-part film series Koukakukidoutai ARISE produced in 2013, and the Hollywood live-action film Ghost in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson, released in 2017.
More recently, on April 12, 2025, the production of a new TV anime, Koukakukidoutai THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, slated for broadcast in 2026, was announced. On the same day, the “World of Shirou Masamune Exhibition: Koukakukidoutai and the Trajectory of Creation” opened at the Setagaya Literary Museum.
The Collaboration T-Shirts
Now, fans eagerly awaiting the new series can express their love for the world of Koukakukidoutai with the “City Ambient Products: Koukakukidoutai SAC T-shirt” collaboration. These T-shirts, part of the “City Ambient Products” label that debuted in the 2024 Autumn/Winter season, focus on key elements of the story, such as the central “Laughing Man Incident,” moments symbolizing the theme of “Stand Alone Complex – Copy Without Original,” and other memorable scenes from the anime.
Based on these iconic elements, City Ambient Products has reconfigured them from their unique perspective, resulting in original graphics designed on the back of the shirts. These graphics respect the integrity of the work while constructing a reinterpretation that goes beyond simple citation.

- Grey: Features a frame from “PORTRAITZ” (Episode 11: Asaichuu no Mori de).
- Charcoal Grey: Depicts a frame from “ESCAPE FROM” (Episode 12: Tachikoma no Iede Eiga Kantoku no Yume).
- Dark Grey: Showcases a frame from “MACHINES DESIRANTES” (Episode 15: Kikai-tachi no Jikan).
- Black: Based on a frame from “EQUINOX” (Episode 23: Zenaku no Higan).
