Huge Kimetsu no Yaiba Special Broadcast Event Announced! Commemorating the Release of Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugenjo Arc, Featuring World Premiere of the Main Trailer
To commemorate the release of the first chapter of 『劇場版「鬼滅の刃」無限城編』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugenjo Arc), a special seven-night broadcast event titled 『劇場版「無限城編」公開記念！「鬼滅の刃」全七夜特別放送』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba Zen Nanaya Tokubetsu Housou) has been decided, which will air everything from 『無限列車編』 (Mugen Train Arc) to 『柱稽古編』 (Hashira Training Arc) over seven nights. The first broadcast on June 28, 2025, will feature the world premiere of the main trailer for the 『無限城編』 (Mugenjo Arc).
About Kimetsu no Yaiba
『鬼滅の刃』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba) is an anime based on the manga by Gotoge Koyoharu, which has been published in Shueisha’s “Jump Comics” with a total of 23 volumes and has surpassed 150 million copies in circulation. The story follows Kamado Tanjiro, a boy whose family was killed by demons, as he joins the <鬼殺隊> (Demon Slayer Corps) to turn his demonized sister, Kamado Nezuko, back into a human and throws himself into battle against demons. The poignant story of humans and demons, the breathtaking swordplay, the charming characters, and the occasionally comical scenes have made it immensely popular.
The anime, produced by ufotable, has been developing as a series starting with 『テレビアニメ「鬼滅の刃」竈門炭治郎 立志編』 (TV Anime Kimetsu no Yaiba: Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc) in April 2019. The story that follows 『テレビアニメ「鬼滅の刃」柱稽古編』 (TV Anime Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Training Arc), which aired from May 2024, is depicted in 『劇場版「鬼滅の刃」無限城編』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugenjo Arc), which is being produced as a three-part film series, with the first chapter set to premiere on July 18, 2025.
Details of the Seven-Night Special Broadcast
In commemoration of the premiere of the first chapter of 『劇場版「鬼滅の刃」無限城編』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugenjo Arc), a special event titled 『劇場版「無限城編」公開記念！「鬼滅の刃」全七夜特別放送』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba Zen Nanaya Tokubetsu Housou) will air the story from the 『無限列車編』 (Mugen Train Arc) to the 『柱稽古編』 (Hashira Training Arc) consecutively on the Fuji TV network.
Each broadcast will feature newly drawn illustrations for the sponsorship cards, as well as special footage looking back at the story from the perspective of each character with newly recorded voice lines, leading up to the highly anticipated release of the 『無限城編』 (Mugenjo Arc). Since different character footage will be delivered with each broadcast, you won’t want to miss them!
The first night on June 28 at 20:00 will be the Saturday Premium broadcast of 『「鬼滅の刃」無限列車編 特別放送』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train Arc Special Broadcast), which will air both the first episode of 『テレビアニメ「鬼滅の刃」無限列車編』 (TV Anime Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train Arc) and 『劇場版「鬼滅の刃」無限列車編』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train) back-to-back. A major highlight is the world premiere of the main trailer for the first chapter of 『劇場版「鬼滅の刃」無限城編』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugenjo Arc). The movie version will be broadcast completely uncut.
Furthermore, for the third night on July 3 at 19:00, titled 『特別編集版「鬼滅の刃」遊郭決戦編』 (Special Edit Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yukaku Kessen Hen), a new segment of “Making of Kimetsu no Yaiba: BEHIND THE SCENES,” which was previously shown at “Kimetsu Theater,” titled “Chugokaigi/Choyashiki Hen,” is confirmed for broadcast. The sixth night on July 16 at 19:00 and the seventh night on July 17 at 19:00, both airing 『特別編集版「鬼滅の刃」柱稽古編』 (Special Edit Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Training Arc), will feature new eyecatches. Along with this announcement, the poster visual for 『特別編集版「鬼滅の刃」柱稽古編』 (Special Edit Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Training Arc) has also been released.
Additionally, to commemorate the special broadcast starting June 28, Kamado Tanjiro, Rengoku Kyojuro, Tokito Muichiro, Kanroji Mitsuri, Tomioka Giyu, and Kocho Shinobu will appear in “Mezamashi Janken,” which is broadcast on “Mezamashi TV” and “Mezamashi Doyobi.” This will be the first time Tomioka Giyu and Kocho Shinobu appear in “Mezamashi Janken,” so look forward to that as well!
The 『劇場版「無限城編」公開記念！「鬼滅の刃」全七夜特別放送』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba Zen Nanaya Tokubetsu Housou) will air starting June 28, 2025, on the Fuji TV network. 『劇場版「鬼滅の刃」無限城編』 (Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugenjo Arc) first chapter premieres on July 18.
