Special Program to Air Before Dandadan Season 2!
The second season of the TV anime Dandadan is set to begin broadcasting on July 3, 2025, airing on the MBS/TBS network across 28 stations within the “Super Animeism TURBO” block. Ahead of its premiere, a special program titled “Anime Dandadan Season 2 Just Before! Watch This and the Continuation Will Be Even More Enjoyable!” will air late at night on June 26.
Dandadan is an occult battle and youth story based on the manga by Tatsuki Yukinobu, serialized on Shueisha’s “Shonen Jump+” manga app with over 10 million copies in circulation. It follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and Okarun, her classmate and occult enthusiast. Their encounter with overwhelming, incomprehensible怪奇 (kaiki – strange/supernatural phenomena) grants them hidden powers and curses. With these newfound abilities, they face impending怪奇 while also getting caught up in a fated romance. The first season of the TV anime aired from October to December 2024 and gained considerable popularity.
The special program, airing before the second season, is designed to deepen viewers’ enjoyment of the series. It will feature a condensed digest of all 12 episodes from Season 1, highlighting the key attractions. Additionally, it will include comments from prominent figures across various fields who are passionate fans of the series, alongside behind-the-scenes production stories shared by the director and cast members. The program’s narration will be handled by Aina The End, who is also performing the opening theme for the second season.
During the broadcast, viewers can look forward to passionate comments from self-proclaimed fans of the series, such as Ninagawa Mika and Noda Crystal (from the comedy duo Magical Lovely), as well as WurtS, who is performing the ending theme for Season 2.
