“BANANA FISH” and Kyoto’s “Maisendo” Collaborate on Goods Inspired by “Sparkling Fragments of Words”
Manga “BANANA FISH” is collaborating with Kyouto-based fan manufacturer “Maisendo” to release four new goods, expressing the series’ charm under the concept of “Sparkling fragments of words.” Pre-orders are currently open at amiami’s online shop and select stores, as well as animate’s online store and select stores.
The collaboration introduces a collection of goods themed around the precious moments and sparkling words shared between Ash and Eiji.
About BANANA FISH
“BANANA FISH” is a suspense action manga by Yoshida Akimi, also known for works like “Umimachi Diary.” It was serialized in “Bessatsu Shoujo Comic” from 1985 to 1994. The story follows Ash Lynx, the young leader of a New York street gang, and Okumura Eiji, a Japanese boy who comes for an interview, as they chase the truth behind the mysterious phrase “Banana Fish.”
As part of Yoshida Akimi’s 40th-anniversary project, the manga was adapted into a TV anime. Directed by Utsumi Hiroko (“Free!”) and animated by MAPPA (“Yuri!!! on ICE”), the series aired on Fuji TV’s “NoitaminA” block from July to December 2018. The role of Ash was voiced by Uchida Yuuma, and Eiji was voiced by Nojima Kenji.
