Summer Anime Kanojo, Okarishimasu: Returning to Daily Life, Kinoshita Kazuya Receives a Private Invitation from Mizuhara Chizuru… Season 4 Episode 1 (Satisfaction 37)

The fourth season of the summer anime Kanojo, Okarishimasu is set to begin airing on Friday, July 4th, 2025. Ahead of the broadcast, the synopsis and preview cuts for the first episode of the fourth season, Satisfaction 37, titled “Nichijou to Kanojo -Nikka no-“, have been released.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu (which can be translated as “I Borrow a Girlfriend” or is known in English as Rent-A-Girlfriend) is a romantic comedy based on the manga by Miyajima Reiji, serialized in Kodansha’s “Weekly Shounen Magazine”. The story follows the life of the hapless college student Kinoshita Kazuya, whose life takes a dramatic turn after he introduces the pure and lovely rental girlfriend (ren kano), Mizuhara Chizuru, as his “real” girlfriend to his family and friends.

The TV anime adaptation first aired its Season 1 in July 2020, with the cuteness of the heroines quickly becoming a hot topic. Season 2 followed in July 2022, and Season 3 in July 2023. The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the TV anime boasts over 350,000 followers, and the original manga has surpassed a cumulative circulation of 13.5 million copies worldwide, showcasing the series’ immense popularity.

Divided into two split cours, the fourth season sees Kazuya, having successfully funded the film production via crowdfunding, finally steel his resolve regarding Chizuru. Meanwhile, Sarashina Ruka, his “temporary” girlfriend with a somewhat forceful personality, becomes even more proactive in her approach towards Kazuya. Furthermore, a tense situation arises when the mischievous ex-girlfriend Nanami Mami, who knows Kazuya and Chizuru’s “real” relationship, suddenly gets close to Chizuru. The story continues to heat up, involving everyone around them, and the stage moves to “Hawaiians” (a resort).

Season 4 Episode 1 (Satisfaction 37): “Nichijou to Kanojo -Nikka no-” Synopsis

After the screening of the independent film production, it’s now October. Kazuya has returned to his everyday routine of attending university and working part-time.

With the situation regarding Chizuru’s grandmother having calmed down, Ruka declares an end to their ceasefire. Kazuya is invited on a trip by Ruka, but they decide to compromise and go to a nearby onsen facility instead.

Just then, Kazuya receives a private message on his smartphone from Chizuru, asking, “Are you free this weekend, either Saturday or Sunday?”.

The first episode of Kanojo, Okarishimasu Season 4 (Satisfaction 37), “Nichijou to Kanojo -Nikka no-“, will air starting Friday, July 4th, 2025, at 2:23 AM JST within the MBS/TBS/BS-TBS “Animeism” block and other networks.
