Get Ready for a Gem of an Anime! First Look at Summer Anime Ruri no Houseki Episode 1 Synopsis & Preview Cuts
We’ve got the first details and preview cuts for the upcoming summer anime series, Ruri no Houseki! The first episode, titled “Hajimete no Koubutsu Saishuu” (First Mineral Collecting), is set to air on July 6, 2025.

Based on the manga serialized in KADOKAWA’s Harta since 2019, Ruri no Houseki is a full-fledged science adventure story. The tale follows Tanikawa Ruri, a high school girl nicknamed Ruri who simply adores shiny things. When she falls for a beautiful crystal pendant, she thinks, “Maybe I can find one myself!” and heads to the mountains.
There, she serendipitously meets Arato Nagi, a graduate student specializing in mineralogy, known as Nagi. They decide to go mineral collecting together. Sometimes they hike mountain paths searching for crystals, other times they wade into rivers picking up garnets, and occasionally they examine unknown minerals under a microscope. Guided by Nagi, Ruri leaps headfirst into the fascinating world of mineral collecting.
The animation is being handled by Studio Bind, known for their work on the grand fantasy epic Mushoku Tensei and the adorable everyday life depicted in Onii-chan wa Oshimai!. With the original manga penned by Shibuya Keiichiro, who is a mineralogy expert himself, this skilled studio is sure to faithfully recreate both the majesty of nature and the charming appeal of the cute girls in the series.
Episode 1 “Hajimete no Koubutsu Saishuu” Synopsis
Tanikawa Ruri, a high school girl who loves all things shiny, is instantly captivated by a crystal pendant. Believing “I should be able to find one myself!”, Ruri heads to the mountains. By chance, she encounters Arato Nagi, a graduate student studying mineralogy, and they embark on a mineral collecting adventure together.
Completely overwhelmed by nature and utterly hooked on mineral collecting, Ruri heads to a riverbed with Nagi to search for garnets.
Broadcast & Streaming Information
The first episode of the summer anime Ruri no Houseki, “Hajimete no Koubutsu Saishuu”, will begin broadcasting sequentially starting on July 6 (Sunday) at 21:30 JST on TOKYO MX and other channels. Groundbreaking simultaneous streaming will also be available on Prime Video from 21:30 JST on the same day. Streaming will begin sequentially on other services starting July 9 (Wednesday) at noon JST.
