Kitagawa Marin from the TV anime “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru” has been made into a figure as the “Glass Edition” from Prime 1 Studio’s figure brand, “PRISMA WING”. A bonus version with an acrylic coaster is currently available for pre-order on Prime 1 Studio’s official online store.
“Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru” is a “cosplay kyun story” based on a manga by Fukuda Shinichi, serialized in Square Enix’s “Young Gangan” and “Manga UP!”, with cumulative sales exceeding 13 million copies. It depicts the developing relationship between Gojou Wakana, a high school boy aspiring to be a “Kashirashi” (a craftsman who makes the heads of Hina dolls) who is out of touch with trends and doesn’t fit in with his class, and Kitagawa Marin, a popular girl who is the center of attention in her class. The two, who are complete opposites, deepen their interactions through cosplay after a chance encounter.
The TV anime is directed by Shinohara Keisuke and animated by CloverWorks. Naota Hina voices Kitagawa Marin, and Ishige Shouya voices Gojou Wakana. Season 1 aired from January to March 2022, and Season 2 started in July 2025. In the sequel, nearly three years later, Marin and Wakana, who still have plenty of cosplays they want to do and costumes they want to create, expand their world further through interactions with classmates and meeting new cosplay friends. The development of Marin’s heart-pounding romance with Wakana is also a highlight.
