The upcoming film Meitantei Purikyua! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu has unveiled a fresh batch of stills, two new preview videos, and heartfelt comments from voice actors who have played PreCure characters in previous series. The movie is slated to hit theaters in Japan on September 18, 2026.
About the Film
Meitantei Purikyua! is the 23rd installment in the PreCure franchise. The story follows Akechi Anna, who on her 2027 birthday encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is enveloped in mysterious light, time-slipping to 1999. There she meets Kobayashi Mikuru, who dreams of becoming a detective, and a self-proclaimed genius fairy named Jetto-senpai. Together they join the Cure tantei jimusho and decide to become full-fledged detectives. To recover their client’s precious belongings from the phantom thief group Phantom, they transform into the Meitantei Purikyua and tackle a series of challenging mysteries.

The newly released stills bring together PreCure from Kimi to Idol Purikyua♪ and Wandafuru Purikyua!, along with the central cast. Behind them looms a gigantic “dame dame” figure, an imposing presence that threatens everyone. How will the 13 PreCure face this menace?
The preview video “Kimipuri & Wanpuri-hen” showcases Cure Idol from Kimi to Idol Purikyua♪ and Cure Wonderful from Wandafuru Purikyua!, along with successive appearances by other PreCure. The second video, “Korezo Meitantei!-hen,” focuses on Meitantei Purikyua! and features Cure Answer, Cure Mystic, Cure Eclair, and Cure Arcana. Anna’s powerful line, “We won’t give up!” stands out.

When I heard that I would appear in Meitantei Purikyua!, I thought, “Finally!” Last year, during the movie’s recording, I had the honor of working with senior PreCure actors. Their presence was truly reliable and cool. This year, realizing I was one of the seniors was a solemn reminder. The way the Tampri team works through deductions and teamwork is wonderful, and I was blessed to observe it. The interactions among the Tampri team, Kimipuri team, and Wanpuri team are incredibly passionate, so please catch it in theaters! Thank you!
Cure Wink / Aokaze Nana (Takahashi Minami)
I was overjoyed to be part of Meitantei Purikyua!. Reading the script felt like someone gently spoke to the lonely parts of my heart. Since the graduation performance, I’d been looking forward to meeting the Meitantei Purikyua members again, and the recording reminded me of last year, moving me to tears. I was a little nervous when the senior PreCure treated me kindly. I hope this film, where so many characters step forward, reaches many hearts!
Cure Kyunkyun / Shiu Kokoro (Takanami Natsumi)
I was so excited to meet Kokoro, Cure Kyunkyun, and the Kimipuri members again! The hiroPuri and wanpuri members who appeared in the Kimipuri movie were so reliable and wonderful, so I was thrilled to see how the Kimipuri as senior PreCure would perform, and above all, how they would interact with the Tampri members in this film.
Cure Zukyun / Prilun (Nanjou Yoshino)
Recording with the Tampri members was so much fun! I wondered if the senior PreCure from last year were watching over us like this, and whether they were happy to reunite. It felt like just yesterday that we five transformed together, and when I told the others that I cried from happiness, they all said the same (laughs). I poured care into every scene and line, savoring every moment as Zukyun and Prilun. Please look forward to Meitantei Purikyua!, which is full of wonderful scenes! Cure Kiss / Meroron (Hanai Miharu)
I was genuinely delighted when the offer came, and I was extremely motivated! Reading the script, I felt as if the Kimipuri members were right there, and emotions welled up in me. Despite some nerves at the recording, the Tampri members warmly welcomed us, and we quickly returned to the same friendly atmosphere. Reuniting with the Kimipuri team was truly moving. Being able to record with the Wanpuri team again made me so happy that I was already in Komugi mode before leaving the house. During the session, everything was as calm and warm as before, like a gentle healing time. I think that atmosphere translates onto the screen! Cure Friendly / Inukai Iroha (Tanezaki Atsumi)
The “dame dame” is a key point of the movie’s story, and I think many people can relate—I certainly did. Please enjoy the answer that Meitantei Purikyua gives to this incident! Cure Nyammy / Nekoyashiki Yuki (Matsuda Satsumi)
This story carries the warmth of PreCure—“Together we can do things”—but also the satisfying feeling of solving a puzzle. That’s Meitantei Purikyua. Our Wanpuri team keeps its usual vibe, with Yuki especially slipping in her cat-like pace. Please visit the theater at your own pace to find your favorite scenes. Cure Lillian / Nekoyashiki Mayu (Ueda Reina)
As both myself and Mayu, I found many points to empathize with in this story. I focused on carefully delivering the words that could be spoken because of that empathy, while enjoying the warm atmosphere of the Wanpuri team during the recording. Story Synopsis
One day, the rumored “X mark case” occurs in town! When an X mark appears, precious things stop working or become unusable, causing trouble for everyone. As Anna and her friends investigate, the fairy client Rain appears before them. His request: “Protect Karin from the Dame Dame!” Guided by Rain, they arrive at the beautiful “Karin no Niwa,” a place like a dream. There they meet a girl named Karin and the fairy Alan watching over her. Alan and Rain care deeply about Karin. After befriending Karin, Anna and her friends begin their investigation—but suddenly, the Dame Dame appears in the peaceful garden. What is the Dame Dame? What is the secret hidden in the mysterious garden? Also, the PreCure from Kimi to Idol Purikyua♪ and Wandafuru Purikyua! are joining the fun! Together with Meitantei Purikyua!, connect the scattered hints and solve the mystery. That mystery will be cured at the movie theater!
