Preview: Mysteries Deepen in Episode 2 of the Summer Anime “Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu” – Synopsis & Advance Cuts Revealed!
From the summer anime Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu, the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 2, titled “Giwaku” (Doubt), which is set to broadcast sequentially starting Saturday, July 12, 2025, have been released.
Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu is a youth horror work based on the manga currently serialized by Mokumokuren in “Young Ace UP”. The story follows Tsujinaka Yoshiki, a typical high school boy, as he experiences various strange incidents happening around him while living with Hikaru, a mysterious entity that has taken the form of his childhood friend, Kitou Hikaru. The original manga has become quite the buzz, notably ranking 1st place in the Male Demographic category of “Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023”.
The TV anime adaptation is helmed by Takeshita Ryohei, who serves as both director and series composer. Takahashi Yuichi is responsible for character design and serves as chief animation director, while Hiraoka Masanori handles the unique role of “Dorodoro Animator”. The animation production is by CygamesPictures. The main cast features Kobayashi Chiaki as Tsujinaka Yoshiki (Yoshiki) and Umeda Shuichiro as Hikaru.
Episode 2: “Giwaku” Synopsis
As talk spreads through the village about the unusually bizarre death of an elderly woman, their classmate, Maki, starts claiming, “Maybe I’m cursed too.”
Maki recounts a frightening experience he had while trying to go home by passing through a forest path that they normally don’t use.
Accepting Maki’s desperate plea, Yoshiki decides to go check out the forest. He is joined by Asako and Yuuki, who had been listening to the story, and Hikaru, who surprisingly showed interest…
