The light novel series Saikyou Mahoushi no Inton Keikaku (The Strongest Magician’s Hidden Plan) is officially being adapted into a television anime, set to air in 2027 on the CBC/TBS nationwide 28-station network block Agaru Anime. Alongside the announcement, a teaser visual and teaser PV featuring protagonist Ars Leegin, voiced by Uemura Yuuto, have been unveiled. Initial staff details have also been released, along with congratulatory comments and illustrations from the original creators.
Written by Izushiro, Saikyou Mahoushi no Inton Keikaku follows Ars Leegin, the strongest mage among over 100,000 magic users, as he hides his identity to attend a magic academy, training up-and-coming mages while battling monsters. The series has expanded into both light novels and a manga adaptation, collectively surpassing 1 million copies in circulation.
The newly released teaser visual depicts the Tower of Babel and a decayed world behind Ars, who stands with a confident expression wielding his magical weapon “AWR,” exuding the presence of a truly powerful mage. The teaser PV showcases Ars effortlessly defeating monsters and hints at new encounters awaiting him at the academy, building anticipation for the start of his new life.
Uemura Yuuto, known for his role as Nakajima Atsushi in Bungo Stray Dogs, takes on the role of the protagonist Ars Leegin. The anime is directed by Suzuki Yusuke (known for the Duel Masters series and Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi), with animation production handled by HOTLINE. Series composition is by Ichikawa Juuokumon (Tokusou Gattai Robo Jobraver, Himitsu no AiPri), character design by Kitajima Yuuki (Meitantei Precure, Yuru Camp series), and sound direction by Hamano Takatoshi (Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku, IDOLiSH7).
Alongside the anime news, a new manga prequel series titled Saikyou Mahoushi no Inton Keikaku Zero – Hajimari no Hishiroku will launch in winter 2026. Illustrated by Yonejiro Karu, who also handled the main manga adaptation, the prequel will delve into Ars Leegin’s past before his enrollment at “Second Magic Academy,” revealing how he came to be known as the world’s strongest single mage.

“Ars, as the strongest mage, is a solid character who never gets shaken by any situation. Because of that, his communication style and emotional distance are unique and hard to pin down. I’m curious to see how he changes throughout his school life. I feel this is an interesting work in how it portrays Ars and the other characters. I hope both fans of the original and newcomers will enjoy the anime, so please look forward to the broadcast!”

“I’m thrilled that Saikyou Mahoushi no Inton Keikaku is getting an anime adaptation. I feel like I’ve finally become someone. Fortunately, the characters have already been brought to life twice through the original illustrations and the manga adaptation, and now with this anime, they will receive new life. I’m deeply grateful to the illustrators, the manga artist, HJ Books, everyone who has worked on this project, the animation staff, and most of all, the readers who have supported us. There are so many people to thank that I might not be able to express my gratitude enough. I hope you enjoy the anime!”
