New Show “Dreams Take Flight” Soaring into Tokyo DisneySea’s Hangar Stage July 16th! Developers Share Insights and Highlights
A brand new entertainment program, “Dreams Take Flight,” is set to begin its run at the Hangar Stage in the Lost River Delta area of Tokyo DisneySea starting Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Ahead of the premiere, the show’s developers shared exciting details and highlights.
Set in a bustling airplane factory, “Dreams Take Flight” is a rhythmic new stage show that depicts a day where Mickey Mouse and his Disney companions work together with unwavering teamwork to build an airplane through song and dance. This highly anticipated entertainment, which has garnered significant attention from fans since its announcement late last year, was unveiled to the press on Tuesday, July 15th.
This vibrant and enjoyable show unfolds with a variety of captivating scenes and playful performances. Beloved Disney characters like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse appear in new costumes, alongside Pete, who serves as the factory manager, Donald Duck the painter, Chip and Dale responsible for procuring tools, and Max the electrician. The show highlights their efforts as they overcome various mishaps while striving to complete the airplane.
Insights from the Development Team
The day before the eagerly awaited opening, the individuals involved in the development of “Dreams Take Flight” met with the press. These were Ishihara Motonari-san, Producer at Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (Entertainment Division, Show Development Department, Show Development Group), and Ariga Michi-san, Director also from the same department (Entertainment Division, Show Development Department, Show Development Group).
When asked about the key points of the development, Ishihara Motonari-san commented, “While creating a show fitting for the Hangar Stage was, of course, important, highlighting the appeal of Mickey Mouse and his companions as they appear in each scene with their specific roles within the airplane factory was certainly one of the key development points.”
Ariga Michi-san added, “In addition to it being Pete’s airplane factory where Mickey and the gang are active, new protagonists from Disney films will appear to embody and express their feelings. Successfully combining them to create a strong expression was a major focus.”
What to Look For: Show Highlights
Regarding the highlights of the show, Ishihara Motonari-san said with a smile, “Truly, every single scene has been meticulously crafted, so to mention them all would mean mentioning everything! However, we hope that every guest who watches will discover their own favorite scene.”
Ariga Michi-san specifically appealed, “If I were to pick something, I have a particular dedication and passion for Minnie’s role as a pilot. By skillfully bringing together brave female characters who forge their own paths in life, such as Merida, Moana, and Pocahontas, alongside her, Minnie’s scene gains even greater depth.”
The new entertainment program “Dreams Take Flight” is scheduled to take off starting Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
