The official website for the original anime movie The Ribbon Hero announced additional cast members and released a third trailer on Thursday. The film, based on Osamu Tezuka‘s manga Ribbon no Kishi (Princess Knight), will premiere worldwide exclusively on Netflix on August 8.

Yuuki Igarashi (Star Wars: Visions) is directing the anime at Outline. Issei Arakaki (Vlad Love) is adapting the original character design by Kei Mochizuki. Satoru Kousaki (MONACA) and Ryuuichi Takada (MONACA) are composing the music.
Tezuka serialized the adventure fantasy manga in Shoujo Club magazine from January 1953 to January 1956. Kodansha published the third and final volume in June 1958.
Mushi Production adapted the manga into a television anime that aired in 52 episodes from Spring 1967 to Spring 1968.
