Originally serialized in “Shounen Jump+” since July 2020, Naoya Matsumoto-sensei’s incredibly popular manga, Kaijuu 8-gou, has garnered numerous manga awards. With 15 volumes already published, its cumulative circulation in Japan, including digital editions, exceeds 18 million copies. Its immense popularity isn’t limited to Japan; it has also captivated a large fanbase overseas, particularly in North America.
The story truly kicks off when the protagonist, Hibino Kafka (voiced by Fukunishi Shouya), who longed to join the “Nihon Boueitai” (Japanese Defense Force) to exterminate Kaijuu, awakens to the power to transform into a Kaijuu himself, thanks to a mysterious small Kaijuu.

Synopsis:
Thanks to Kikoru’s words, Kafka was able to transform into Kaijuu 8-gou, unleashing his true power and overwhelmingly defeating Kaijuu 9-gou. With the combined efforts of Narumi, Kikoru, and Kafka, the First Unit proved their might as the strongest force envisioned by Nihon Boueitai Director-General Shinomiya Isao. However, the sweet taste of victory was short-lived. An alarm suddenly blared, and Kaijuu 9-gou vanished, leaving behind an ominous message: “I’ll be taking that immense Kaijuu power.” Now, the Defense Force faces its greatest crisis in history!
