Toogen Anki is a new generation dark hero oni-tan (demon tale) based on the manga by Urushibara Yuuki, serialized in “Shuukan Shounen Champion.” With over 4 million copies in circulation, the series delves into an intense conflict between those who inherit the blood of oni (demons) and those who carry the lineage of Momotarou, a famous figure from Japanese folklore. It reinterprets the well-known tale of Momotarou, taking it into a darker, action-packed direction.

The first cour of the TV anime, the “Kyoto Arc,” began in July and is currently broadcast every Friday at 11:00 PM JST on the Nippon TV network’s “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT” (Furaani) block, reaching 30 stations nationwide. Following its TV broadcast, it receives the fastest online distribution on ABEMA, with subsequent releases on various other streaming platforms. The story is now building towards a full-scale confrontation with the cruel Momotarou of Kyoto, who is far from any traditional hero, promising thrilling developments.
