Kaijuu 8-gou, also known by its English localization Kaiju No. 8, is an electrifying manga series by Matsumoto Naoya, which began its serialization on Shueisha’s Shounen Jump+ app in July 2020. The story unfolds in a world where formidable kaijuu constantly threaten humanity, and it’s up to the brave members of the Japan Anti-Kaijuu Defense Force to protect the innocent.
Our protagonist, Hibino Kafka, dreams of joining this elite force. However, his life takes an unforeseen turn when a mysterious, tiny kaijuu transforms him into a powerful monster himself. Dubbed “Kaijuu 8-gou” and hunted across Japan, Kafka refuses to abandon his dream of becoming a Defense Force member and bravely confronts kaijuu disasters.
The series garnered explosive popularity, earning the top spot in the Web Manga category at the “Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishou 2021” (Next Manga Award 2021). The first season of the TV anime adaptation aired from April 2024, captivating audiences worldwide. Following its incredible success, the second season of the TV anime premiered on July 19, 2025, just one day after the manga’s conclusion.
Hoshina Soushirou, Shinomiya Kikoru, Narumi Gen, and Ichikawa Reno—members of the Japan Anti-Kaijuu Defense Force—along with various units and even the Monster Sweeper kaijuu cleaning company, are now available as “patches” perfect for customizing your bags and other gear.
The “Removable Full Color Patches” featuring the Defense Force members can be easily attached to items with hook-and-loop fasteners. The patches for the Japan Anti-Kaijuu Defense Force, its various units, and the Monster Sweeper meticulously reproduce their emblems with precise embroidery, available in both removable and iron-on adhesive styles.
These patches are designed to perfectly complement the simultaneously released “Japan Anti-Kaijuu Defense Force Functional Backpack” and “Japan Anti-Kaijuu Defense Force Functional Tote Bag.” Both items are multi-functional, inspired by squad-issued gear, offering superior storage capacity and utility.
Additionally, a “Japan Anti-Kaijuu Defense Force 1st Unit Pass Case” with a carabiner clip and a “Japan Anti-Kaijuu Defense Force 1st Unit T-Shirt,” made with comfortable and durable 5.6 oz fabric, are also being released.
