About Eikyuu no Yuugure
Eikyuu no Yuugure is an original, full-fledged love story TV anime, brought to life by animation studio P.A.WORKS under the direction of Tsuda Naokatsu, who is also handling the series composition. The story unfolds in a futuristic world where AI technology has made astounding advancements. The narrative kicks into motion when our protagonist, Himegami Akira, awakens from a long period of cold sleep, only to discover that the world has drastically changed from the one he knew with his beloved partner, Oumasa Towasa, with whom he swore eternal love.
Upon his awakening, Akira is confronted with a cityscape ravaged by war. The nation has fallen into ruin, and its people are now managed by a unified organization known as OWEL. A new system called “Elsie,” distinct from traditional marriage, has been established. Left behind in a future utterly transformed from his own time, Akira is stunned by the harsh reality.
To compound his bewilderment, an android named Yuugure, bearing a striking resemblance to Towasa, appears before him and proposes marriage. Despite his confusion over this sudden android proposal, Akira chooses to embark on a journey with Yuugure, holding onto the belief that he can one day reunite with Towasa, who he is certain must be alive somewhere in this changed world. Along their path, the two will witness new expressions of love in this era, prompting them to deeply consider the nature of their own affection and connection.
The main cast bringing these characters to life includes Umeda Shuuichirou as Himegami Akira, Ishikawa Yui as Yuugure, and Kayano Ai as Oumasa Towasa.
Episode 0: “Asa wo Kokoro ni, Ichi, Ni to Kazoeyo” Synopsis
Himegami Akira, a high school student who lost his parents at a young age, was raised by his father’s close friend. His mind is constantly occupied by his live-in companion, Oumasa Towasa, for whom he harbors deep romantic feelings. After years of living together, Towasa has become akin to family, and Akira grapples daily with how to advance their relationship beyond its current bounds.
Meanwhile, Towasa also sees Akira as a romantic interest, but her vow to treat him as family has prevented her from taking that crucial next step. However, a crisis soon befalls Towasa, prompting Akira to resolve to be more assertive in his affections. Inspired by their 10th anniversary of living together, Towasa also makes a firm decision to move their relationship forward.
The prologue of the fall anime Eikyuu no Yuugure, Episode 0 “Asa wo Kokoro ni, Ichi, Ni to Kazoeyo”, will air simultaneously nationwide on MBS/TBS affiliated 28 stations within the “Super Animeism TURBO” block, starting at 24:26 JST on Thursday, September 25.
