About Marriage Toxin
Marriage Toxin is a thrilling and unique marriage-hunting battle action manga published on Shueisha’s “Shonen Jump+” app. Penned by Joumyaku and illustrated by Yoda Mizuki, this series follows Gero Hikaru, a young man from the “Doku Tsukai” (Poison User) assassin lineage that has thrived for centuries. To prevent his family’s bloodline from ending, Gero must find a partner, embarking on the world’s most challenging marriage hunt. The Talented Team Behind the Anime
In this TV anime adaptation, the role of Gero Hikaru, an elite assassin and heir to the “Doku Tsukai” Gero family – one of the five great families of “Tsukai-te” (users) – will be voiced by Ishiya Haruki. Gero-kun starts his marriage hunt to continue his family line. Joining him as Shirosaki Mei, the exceptionally skilled marriage swindler who aids Gero-kun in his quest, is Wakayama Shion. Their dynamic promises to be a highlight of the series!
The animation production will be handled by Bones Film, a renowned studio known for incredible works such as Boku no Hero Academia and Gachiakuta. Directing the series is Horimoto Nobunobu, celebrated for his work on Carole & Tuesday and Metallic Rouge. Tokuoka Kouhei, who lent his talents to character design and chief animation direction for SK8 the Infinity and Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku, is also contributing in the same capacities. A flood of enthusiastic comments has arrived from the original author Joumyaku, manga artist Yoda, the main cast, and key staff members. Their excitement is palpable!

Hello everyone! I’m Ishiya Haruki, and I’ll be voicing Gero Hikaru-kun in the TV anime Marriage Toxin.
It’s such an honor to be entrusted with the main role in a series that I eagerly follow every week on “Shonen Jump+”. The thought of being able to contribute to this amazing work fills me with joy! When I heard I got the part, I instinctively yelled “Yoshhaaa!” and pumped my fist in excitement!
I’m personally thrilled to see how the unique characters, the intricate world-building, the beautiful artwork, and the intense battles fused with marriage-hunting will be brought to life through animation. Please look forward to it!

Huge thanks to Yoda-sensei, my editor, and all the readers who’ve supported us! I was involved a little in the production, and let me tell you, the level of “understanding” from Director Horimoto-san, Character Designer Tokuoka-san, Series Composer/Scriptwriter Ueno-san, and the rest of the anime staff is absolutely tremendous. It was amazing to witness how each meeting polished and enhanced the story, making it even more compelling.
Furthermore, after observing the recording for the first episode… I became absolutely convinced, thanks to the superb performances of Ishiya-san as Gero and Wakayama-san as Shirosaki, along with many other talented voice actors. This anime is undoubtedly going to be a masterpiece!
It’s still a bit of a wait, but until then, I’ll continue to ramp up the excitement in the original manga, so please give us your full support!
