Which Bass Character Comes to Mind? Poll Deadline: October 30

November 11th marks “Bass Day”!

This special commemorative day was proposed by renowned music producer and bassist Kameda Seiji, taking inspiration from how the four strings of a bass guitar visually resemble the digits “1111.”

In anime centered around bands, wind ensembles, or orchestras, the bassist is an absolutely indispensable presence. They are the unsung heroes who lay down the rhythmic and harmonic foundation of a song with their deep, resonating low notes. Bassists are the bedrock, supporting their companions, and sometimes, with a single, perfectly placed note, they can dramatically shift the entire atmosphere of a scene. With such a crucial role, the question arises: among these vital characters, who truly captures the hearts of Anime! Anime! readers and earns their unwavering support?

Continuing the tradition from last year, we are thrilled to announce another reader survey titled “Who is your favorite ‘bass’ character?” We invite you to share your thoughts in a free-response format. Please tell us which character you believe embodies the spirit of a great bassist and from what title they hail!
