Fall Anime Ranma 1/2: New Character Goshunkugi Hikaru (CV. Ishida Akira) Debuts! Ranma’s Weakness Revealed in Episode 13 Advance Cuts
Get ready, fans! From the Fall 2025 anime season, the second season of Ranma 1/2 is gearing up for its Episode 13, titled “Ranma no Jakuten” (meaning “Ranma’s Weakness”), set to broadcast starting Saturday, October 4th. Fans can now get a sneak peek with the freshly released synopsis and advance scene cuts!

Ranma 1/2 is a beloved fighting romantic comedy, originally a manga by the legendary Takahashi Rumiko, famed for iconic works such as Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Inuyasha, Kyoukai no RINNE, and MAO. This timeless series was serialized in “Shuukan Shounen Sunday” from issue 36 of 1987 to issue 12 of 1996, and even today, its popularity remains absolute!
This latest anime adaptation is a “completely new production” spearheaded by director Uda Kounosuke and animated by the renowned studio MAPPA. Its first season graced screens from October to December 2024, and it immediately sparked considerable excitement. A major highlight was the return of the original, iconic voice cast, including Yamaguchi Kappei as Saotome Ranma (male), Hayashibara Megumi as Ranma (female), and Hidaka Noriko as Tendou Akane. This stellar lineup ensured the series generated massive hype, which has continued unabated since before its initial broadcast.
The story kicks off with the arrival of Saotome Genma and his son, Saotome Ranma, at the Tendou household, fresh from their training in China. However, instead of the expected duo, a giant panda and an adorable girl greet the family! It turns out that Ranma, during his rigorous training in China, acquired a peculiar body type: he transforms into a girl when splashed with cold water, and reverts to a boy when doused with hot water. As Ranma navigates this unique predicament, he and his gender-bending self become entangled with a colorful cast of eccentric characters, leading to a cascade of tears, laughter, and, of course, a healthy dose of romance!
Episode 13: “Ranma no Jakuten” Synopsis

Goshunkugi Hikaru, a classmate secretly smitten with Tendou Akane, seethes with jealousy over Saotome Ranma, who is now Akane’s fiancé.

In his scheme, he teams up with Kuno Tatewaki and relentlessly tails Ranma, desperate to uncover his weaknesses. Yet, Ranma proves to be a formidable opponent, rarely showing any chinks in his armor.

However, fate intervenes with an unfortunate accident, exposing Ranma’s secret weakness! Falling into Goshunkugi Hikaru’s cunning trap, which exploits this newly discovered vulnerability, Ranma is pushed to the absolute brink of fear, ultimately losing his very self-control!
