About Debu to Love to Ayamachi to!: From Manga to Screen
Debu to Love to Ayamachi to! is a vibrant and chaotic office romantic comedy based on the popular manga by Mamakari, which has garnered over 128 million downloads on “Comic Cmoa.” This engaging story follows the life of Koda Yumeko, a protagonist who, after an accident leaves her with amnesia, undergoes a remarkable transformation. Once plagued by insecurities and complexes about her appearance, she awakens with an incredibly positive outlook on life. Now, Yumeko navigates her busy days, juggling both love and career, armed with her newfound, super-positive energy. She brilliantly cuts through the worries of those around her while also gradually uncovering the truth behind her own accident.

The series has already proven its charm, having been adapted into a live-action drama in 2022, starring Kanade (from 3ji no Heroine) and Kusakawa Takuya (from Chou Tokkyuu) in lead roles, broadcast on TOKYO MX. This upcoming anime adaptation, a 30-minute television series, marks TOKYO MX’s first venture as the primary production committee. Under the direction of Koga Kazuomi, Marvy Jack is handling the animation production, promising a visually delightful experience. The stellar voice cast brings these beloved characters to life, with Endou Aya as Koda Yumeko and Uchida Yuuma as Yuuki Keisuke. Joining them are Kitou Akari as Tamai Saki, Sugita Tomokazu as Maezono Hiroki, Eguchi Takuya as Shigemori Yutaka, Takeuchi Eiji as Hosoi Masahiko, Suwabe Junichi as Minami Motoki, and Chiba Shouya as Tanikawa Shunzaburou.
Episode 1 “Positive Thinking!!” Synopsis
The inaugural episode, “Positive Thinking!!”, kicks off with Yumeko awakening in a hospital bed, her memories completely lost. Despite her past struggles with self-consciousness, she now gazes at her reflection and exclaims, “Is this… me…? I’m super cute!” — a testament to her incredibly positive transformation. Her cheerful new demeanor is instantly captivating.

After being discharged, on her way to work, Yumeko encounters Yuuki Keisuke, a man sitting breathlessly in a park. This chance meeting sets the stage for new connections.

Back at the office, her colleagues, including her boss Maezono Hiroki and Tamai Saki, are utterly astonished by Yumeko’s dramatic personality shift. Just as things seem to be settling into her new reality, an unsettling phone call from the police station arrives for Yumeko, hinting at a deeper mystery beneath her cheerful exterior.
