Japan’s First Flagship Store for Beloved British Characters Opens in Harajuku
Sanrio is set to open Japan’s very first flagship store for the beloved British picture book characters, MR. MEN LITTLE MISS, in Tokyo’s Harajuku on February 13, 2026. “MR. MEN LITTLE MISS MARKET Harajuku Store” will feature goods focused on fashion and lifestyle.
‘MR. MEN LITTLE MISS’ are picture book characters created by British author and illustrator Roger Hargreaves in 1971. This globally popular series, published in over 17 languages with more than 400 titles and over 250 million copies sold worldwide, expresses the vast array of human personalities, traits, and individuality. It has shared universal stories and values across the globe.
The cast of colorful, unique, and endearing characters has grown to over 90. Sanrio acquired the character rights in 2011 and began its license business in Japan from 2013.
Currently, new anime series are being distributed on YouTube, with a second anime series in production for TV, and a movie was announced in December 2025. As part of this expansion, the “MR. MEN LITTLE MISS MARKET Harajuku Store” will open as a physical space where fans can see and touch this charming world.

The “MR. MEN LITTLE MISS MARKET Harajuku Store” will sell popular items featuring the characters’ vibrant color palettes. The lineup includes plush toys, silicone mini pouches, rubber keychains, pouches, tote bags, and other items perfect for daily use or as a fun accent to any outfit.
New “Bus Design Series” Launching in March
Under the concept “Individuality is Exciting!”, a new line of goods combining design and playfulness called the “MR. MEN LITTLE MISS Bus Design Series” will also go on sale from March 4th.
Keep an eye out for all 23 items, including mini tote bags, socks, and 3D keychains, each uniquely designed to match the individual personality of a specific character.
Opening Commemorative Goods and Events
The “MR. MEN LITTLE MISS MARKET Harajuku Store” will be open from 11:00 to 18:00. To celebrate the opening, limited-quantity purchase bonuses like a special “Paper Bag” and “Can Badge” will be available.
Furthermore, on February 14th and 15th from 11:00 to 17:00, specially designed “Stick Balloons” will be handed out on Harajuku’s Takeshita Street.
Additionally, on February 13th, a “Kids’ Snack Marche” will be held at the event “Oyatsu Market in Futakotamagawa Rise” in Futakotamagawa, Tokyo. A “MR. MEN LITTLE MISS Fair” will also take place at the Futakotamagawa Tsutaya Kaden (2nd Floor Picture Book Corner).
