Sanrio’s popular character, Kuromi, is celebrating her 20th anniversary with a special appearance in the lifestyle brand “Maison de FLEUR.” Alongside her close companion, My Melody, they are launching an exclusive “all-black” collection.
Meet Kuromi: The Mischievous Yet Girly Character
Kuromi might seem like a mischievous character, but she’s actually very otome-chic at heart. Debuting in 2005, she self-proclaims herself as “My Melody’s rival” and absolutely adores handsome guys. Born on Halloween (October 31st), her charm points are her black hood and pink skull. She loves eating rakkyou (pickled scallions) and enjoys keeping a diary. Kuromi is also into romance novels and her favorite color is, naturally, black. She’s constantly striving to “Kuromi-fy” the entire world!
Meet My Melody: The Sweet and Cherished Companion
My Melody, who debuted in 1975, is a kind-hearted girl born on January 18th, known for being honest, cheerful, and caring towards her younger brother. Her cherished treasure is the adorable hood her grandmother made for her. Her hobbies include baking cookies, and her favorite food is almond pound cake. Her dream for the future is to open a confectionery shop. As a beloved member of the Sanrio Characters, she is celebrating her 50th anniversary and continues to be adored by many fans.
