About Arne no Jikenbo

Arne no Jikenbo, which can be translated as “Arne’s Case Files,” is a full-fledged mystery and gothic fantasy series. It’s based on the popular investigative game that began serialization on the game distribution site “Game Magazine” in November 2017, created by the game development team Harumurasaki.

The story follows an unlikely pair: Arne Neuntöter, a “legendary vampire” who works as a detective in the city of Ruegenberg, a place inhabited by various monstrous beings, and Lynn Reinweiss, a young lady from a prestigious noble family who secretly harbors an intense “vampire otaku” hobby. This quirky duo plunges into the depths of strange and bizarre cases that continuously plague their world, unraveling the truth behind each peculiar incident.

Triple Protagonist Adventure with a New Character

In this TV anime series, the dynamic duo of Arne and Lynn is joined by an original character named Ruise, forming a triple protagonist team to tackle these intriguing mysteries. The newly released PV showcases their first encounter, sparked by a series of murders that occur in Ruise’s village, setting the stage for their combined efforts.

The main cast bringing these characters to life has been confirmed. Ise Mariya will voice Ruise. For Arne, there’s a unique double casting: Uchiyama Kouki will portray the adult Arne, while Tanaka Aimi will voice Arne in his younger, boyish form. Nukuui Yuuka will take on the role of Lynn. Each of the cast members has also shared their enthusiasm with comments, which you can read below.

Mysterious Melodies: Theme Songs Revealed

Furthermore, it has been announced that Sou, a vocalist who has achieved remarkable presence and talent with roots in the internet world, will be performing the opening theme. The song “Q.E.D.,” written and composed by singer-songwriter Kuriyama Yuuri, who also operates as Vocaloid P “Hachiya Nanashi,” expresses the mysterious and pop worldview fitting for this work.

For the ending theme, “Ningyou no Machi” (Doll’s City), singer-songwriter Kobayashi Watashi will handle both lyrics and composition. This track features Wada Takeaki, who also arranged the original game’s theme song “Q.,” on arrangement. Comments from both artists have also been received following this announcement.

Comments from the Cast and Artists

Ise Mariya (Voice of Ruise)

I’m Ise Mariya, and I’ve had the pleasure of participating in the TV anime Arne no Jikenbo as Ruise! This series draws you in with its unique worldview and delicate psychological portrayal. I strove to carefully express the atmosphere and emotional fluctuations that Ruise as a character possesses. I would be delighted if I could deliver a Ruise that leaves a lasting impression on everyone as a character who colors the story.

Uchiyama Kouki (Voice of Arne)

I’m Uchiyama Kouki, and I’m in charge of voicing Arne Neuntöter. Not only are the unique characters charming, but the diverse storyline is also structured to be enjoyable without getting bored until the very end. I would also highly recommend it to those who love mysteries and puzzles. Please look forward to the TV anime Arne no Jikenbo!

Tanaka Aimi (Voice of Arne (Shounen))

I’m participating in Arne no Jikenbo as Arne (Shounen). As the title suggests, we’ll be unraveling many cases and mysteries! I believe it will be a story that both players of the original game and newcomers can enjoy, so please look forward to the broadcast!

Nukuui Yuuka (Voice of Lynn)

I am truly honored and happy to be involved in this beloved work. Lynn-chan is a young noble lady, cute, and a kind-hearted girl who cares deeply for her family. And… she’s a full-on vampire otaku! I feel a sense of kinship with her! She is a deeply complex girl, and I poured my heart into portraying her charm to the fullest. I believe this anime will undoubtedly captivate both original fans and those encountering it for the first time, immersing them in its bizarre world! Please “dance with joy” as you await the broadcast!

Sou (Opening Theme Artist)

I’m honored to be in charge of the theme song for Arne no Jikenbo. It’s a song titled “Q.E.D.,” written by Kuriyama Yuuri-san. I would be happy if I could convey even a little bit of the heart that pursues the truth and the atmosphere of this story through music. Please enjoy it alongside the work itself.

Kobayashi Watashi (Ending Theme Artist)

First of all, congratulations on the anime adaptation! I really, really love games made with RPG Maker. By the way, about the anime adaptation, does this mean we get to see the Nachtzehrer in anime? That makes me so happy, y’know… The arrangement is by our great master Wada Takeaki! Wada Takeaki-san is the best… I asked him if he could arrange it and use a Macaferri guitar, and it went through. It just goes to show, it doesn’t hurt to ask. So, please also look forward to “Ningyou no Machi,” the ending theme that lends a hand to the world of the Arne no Jikenbo anime.
