Ikuta Rira to Release New Song “Voyage” — Chosen as the Official Theme for “LOVE Dan 2026” High School Dance Contest!
Singer-songwriter Ikuta Rira, also widely known as ikura, the vocalist of YOASOBI, is set to release her new digital single “Voyage” on October 31st. This highly anticipated track comes on the heels of her recent success providing the ending theme “Actor” for the third season of the popular TV anime, *SPY x FAMILY*, which began airing on October 4th.
“Voyage”: The Anthem for “LOVE Dan 2026” High School Dance Contest
“Voyage” has been officially selected as the theme song for the “LOVE Dan 2026” high school dance video contest, an exciting event organized by Nippon TV’s “DayDay.” program, now in its third consecutive year. This unique competition invites high school students from across Japan to create and submit their own dance videos using “Voyage,” all vying for the title of “Japan’s No. 1 Dance Video.”
Ikuta Rira herself penned this inspiring track, pouring her heart into the lyrics and melody. Adding another layer of brilliance, the choreography for “Voyage” was crafted by akane, a leading Japanese choreographer who has garnered significant attention as the producer behind the sensational dance group Avantgardey.
The song resonates deeply with Ikuta Rira’s personal experiences, reflecting the struggles and aspirations inherent in chasing dreams and hopes. It’s a powerful message designed to uplift and support the high school students participating in the contest, encouraging them to express their own journeys through dance. Adding a special touch, the song’s memorable chorus features members and alumni of “Plasonica,” the acoustic session unit Ikuta Rira was a part of until 2021, creating a harmonious and nostalgic feel.
Star-Studded Dance Video and Contest Details
A special short version of the “Voyage” dance video has already been released, featuring not only Ikuta Rira but also a lineup of popular figures. “DayDay.” regulars and “LOVE Dan 2026” support ambassadors — Sato Taiki of FANTASTICS, Xu Fengfan of INI, Nakama Junta of WEST., and FUMA of &TEAM — all participated, making it a must-watch for fans.
Aspiring high school dancers have until January 14, 2026, at 6:00 PM (JST) to submit their entries for the “LOVE Dan 2026” high school dance video contest.
