The Story: A World Where Song Is Forbidden
Set in the year 2045, GHOST CONCERT: missing Songs plunges us into a world where singing is strictly forbidden. The creation and performance of music are entirely handled by a music application called MiucS. The story follows a young girl named Aiba Seria who, while out with her friends, hears a forbidden song. Following the mysterious melody, Seria encounters a true ghost – one of the “Great Ghosts,” revered historical figures who have manifested from beyond this world.
Creative Team Behind the Haunting Melodies
The esteemed animation studio ENGI, known for their engaging productions, will be bringing this musical narrative to life. Leading the creative vision is Jinbo Masato, who will serve as Director, Series Composition writer, and will pen all episode scripts. Jinbo-san’s previous works include the film Gotoubun no Hanayome (also known as The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie) as its composition director and the highly acclaimed Isekai Shokudou (Restaurant to Another World) series as its series composition writer. The captivating character designs will be handled by Uigawa Masaaki, who previously contributed as a sub-character designer for Unnamed Memory.
Meet the Cast: Voices Bringing Ghosts to Life
The talented Fujitera Minori has been cast as the protagonist, Aiba Seria, whose journey into the world of forbidden music is just beginning. Joining her is Hidaka Rina, who will lend her voice to Cleopatra, one of the powerful “Great Ghosts” who performs the first duet song alongside Seria in the anime.
This reveal also marks the first time listeners can hear an audio snippet of “RES∞NALIST” (Resonalist), one of the pivotal in-story songs known as “Hyoui Chinkonka” (Possession Requiem). This track provides a powerful taste of the anime’s atmosphere, which will be richly colored by character duet songs.
