Daoko Comments Arrive! New Song ‘iiyo’ for ‘Aru Hime’ Theme Song Now Streaming! POP and Refreshing Sound Feel ♪ EP Release Decided!

The opening theme song, “Ii yo”, for the TV anime Aru Ohimesama ni Natte Shimatta Ken ni Tsuite, performed by artist Daoko, officially began its digital distribution across various music streaming services on October 30th.

This anime is an adaptation of a wildly popular manga, which has garnered over 200 million total views in its digital edition and sold more than 2.2 million copies in print. Its widespread appeal is further highlighted by its impressive second-place ranking in the “Manga We Want to See Animated 2024” poll, showcasing the immense anticipation surrounding its animated debut.

Furthermore, Daoko is set to release a digital EP titled “meta millefeuille” on November 19th. This upcoming EP will feature a total of five tracks, including the recently released “Ii yo”, along with “Zense wa Bushou” from July and “Boku dake no Photon” from September. The EP’s lead track, “Rhythm in the Sunset”, sees the participation of up-and-coming Vocaloid producer namitape, while Daoko herself took on composing duties for “MeeM”, showcasing a diverse and rich collection of songs.

The EP’s stunning artwork was crafted by the talented illustrator You. Embracing the concept of “kawaii” as its rallying cry, this collection of exquisite pop tunes is presented as a work that brilliantly fuses Daoko’s cutting-edge sensibilities with a comforting intimacy that resonates with listeners’ everyday lives, truly embodying her latest artistic direction.

The anime Aru Ohimesama ni Natte Shimatta Ken ni Tsuite tells the enchanting story of Princess Athanasia, born into the magical Obelia Teikoku. Blessed with the peculiar ability to foresee her future through dreams, she embarks on a journey to alter her predetermined destiny. The broadcast of this captivating series began sequentially on October 1st across TOKYO MX, BS Nittele, and AT-X.

Daoko’s Comment

I hoped to express the feelings of the protagonist, Athanasia, through my words, so I thoroughly read the original work and carefully chose each phrase. At the same time, I aimed for lyrics that carried a gentle warmth, allowing listeners who discover this through my music to feel understood and embraced.

I would be delighted if this work conveys a sense of all-encompassing acceptance and warmth.

For the music, I entrusted GuruConnect, who is a valuable support member in my live performances. While the sound is refreshingly pop-infused, it’s also intricately crafted, resulting in an exhilarating finish where every detail shines through.

Beat Satoshi played the drums, so I really want everyone to pay attention to the skillful sound of the percussion. The beat itself is also a personal favorite point of mine. I truly hope this song, alongside the anime, resonates deeply in the hearts of many!
