Additionally, an official report has arrived from the stage greeting event celebrating the release of Part 2, held on November 2.
Golden Kamuy is a TV anime based on the immensely popular manga by Noda Satoru-sensei, serialized in “Weekly Young Jump.” It depicts a brutal survival struggle centered around the gold nuggets stolen from the Ainu people, following Sugimoto Saichi, a hero of the Russo-Japanese War known as “The Immortal Sugimoto,” and his Ainu companion, Asir(i)pa.

The manga has won numerous accolades, including first place in the “Manga Taishou 2016” and the Manga Grand Prize at the “22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.” With all 31 volumes released, the series has sold over 30 million copies. Its live-action film and drama adaptations have also been huge successes, showing no signs of slowing down even after the manga’s completion.
The TV anime series began its run in April 2018 with its first season, and the final arc is slated to air starting January 2026.

Stage Greeting for Part 2!
The stage greeting event for the “Theatrical Pre-release Edition Anime Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Factory Arc [Part 2]” was held on November 2, following its nationwide release on October 31. The event featured appearances by Kobayashi Chikahiro-san (voice of Sugimoto Saichi), Shiraishi Haruka-san (voice of Asir(i)pa), Itou Kentarou-san (voice of Shiraishi Yoshitake), Nakata Jouji-san (voice of Hijikata Toshizou), Nomura Kenji-san (voice of Ushiyama Tatsuma), Takemoto Eiji-san (voice of Tsukishima Gunshou), and Konishi Katsuyuki-san (voice of Koito Shou(i)). The cast shared captivating stories about the recording process and answered questions, revealing many charms of the film.

11:00 AM Session
The 11:00 AM session took place before the film’s screening, with Itou-san once again serving as the host, just as he did for the Part 1 stage greeting. After the attending cast members greeted both the theater audience and those participating via live viewing, Kobayashi-san and Shiraishi-san began by reflecting on the reactions they received after the release of Part 1. Kobayashi-san shared an anecdote about being approached by colleagues from other productions who enthusiastically told him, “I watched it!”, an episode that truly conveyed the high level of attention the series is receiving. Shiraishi-san, on the other hand, mentioned that she received many messages from fans expressing their joy at being able to experience Golden Kamuy with the immersive screen and sound environment of a cinema.

The conversation then shifted to the highlights of Part 2. When Nakata Jouji-san succinctly described it as, “Various mysteries are revealed, and it feels like, ‘Oh, Golden Kamuy!'” the other cast members, though initially surprised by his brevity, nodded in agreement, acknowledging that such moments indeed exist. Nomura Kenji-san, noting Ushiyama’s minimal appearance in Part 2, highlighted Ushiyama’s dramatic entrance from a door in Part 1 as a key moment. When Konishi Katsuyuki-san, speaking for the 7th Division, said, “For us, watching Tsurumi Chuui is the most important thing,” Takemoto Eiji-san passionately concurred, declaring, “I really want to thank everyone for coming to see Tsurumi Chuui!” He then added, “Our Koito is working hard, so please support him,” which was met with applause from the audience. Konishi-san sincerely expressed, “I hope you enjoy seeing him mature and witness the changes in his relationship with Tsukishima Gunshou.”

In the next segment, with the first theatrical film in eight years since the TV anime’s first season, the cast was asked what they would like to do next. Shiraishi Haruka-san expressed a desire for everyone to visit a certain place in Hokkaido, a sentiment the entire cast agreed with. However, since the location is still a secret within the anime’s narrative, it led to a humorous situation where they were referred to as “people who want to go to that place for some reason” (as described by Konishi-san). Konishi-san then suggested a world tour, to which Takemoto-san countered with a proposal for a Hokkaido tour first. He even pitched a surprising idea involving a stamp rally across Hokkaido, with cast members waiting at each checkpoint holding stamps.

Following this, a Q&A corner was held, addressing questions submitted to the anime’s official X account.
The first question concerned memorable interactions with the director and sound director during recording. Takemoto Eiji-san confessed to struggling with the appropriate volume for Tsukishima Gunshou and Koito Shou(i) as they whispered while eavesdropping on “a certain person.” However, Konishi-san seemed to hardly recall the specific incident. In actuality, Konishi-san led the test recording, and based on that, the sound director suggested a middle ground. Kobayashi Chikahiro-san reminisced about Ootsuka Houchu-san’s performance in the scene where Tsurumi Chuui and Asir(i)pa have “a talk.” He noted that while Ootsuka-san’s test performance was initially rather cheerful, the sound director’s direction to tone down the joy and instill a more terrifying atmosphere was particularly striking. Nomura Kenji-san then recalled the “Pui!” sound during the scene in Part 1 where everyone turns away from Ueji’s provocation as memorable. Itou Kentarou-san revealed that the inclusion of this line was actually a suggestion from the original author, Noda Satoru-sensei.
The second question was addressed to a specific cast member, asking Nomura Kenji-san what he keeps in mind when portraying Ushiyama. Nomura-san replied that he doesn’t consciously think too much, striving instead to act purely from Ushiyama’s heart. To this, Nakata Jouji-san humorously interjected, “I can’t forgive him for delivering cool lines at crucial moments,” leading to an unexpected, mock internal conflict within the Hijikata faction. The third question was for Konishi Katsuyuki-san, asking if he ever makes strange noises like Koito Shou(i) in his private life. Konishi-san, whether in jest or earnest, replied “Yes,” and admitted to having done so frequently even at the theater, drawing laughter from the audience.

Finally, Kobayashi Chikahiro-san and Shiraishi Haruka-san delivered messages to the fans on behalf of the cast. Shiraishi-san stated, “There are still many dreams I want to achieve with everyone for Golden Kamuy, so I want to build up the final arc together with all of you.” Kobayashi-san then commented, “I believe the series has continued this far because everyone loves it. I would be incredibly happy if we could create such an opportunity again.” In response, Itou Kentarou-san concluded the event by declaring that the entire cast would face the recordings for the final arc with full effort, embracing both the joy and sadness that come with its impending conclusion.

14:00 PM Session
The 2:00 PM session took place after the film’s screening, starting with greetings from the attending cast members. Takemoto Eiji-san declared, “We’ll have fun today!” and Konishi Katsuyuki-san immediately kicked things off with a monkey cry (Saruzakebi), setting a lively and energetic tone for the start of the event.
During the talk segment, in response to the “Tsurumi Gekijou”-like content of Part 2, Shiraishi Haruka-san shared her impressions of recording with Ootsuka Houchu-san. She confessed that she had been dreading the recording day ever since reading the original manga. During the actual session, she described being both terrified and excited by Ootsuka-san’s intense presence right beside her, how he suppressed various emotions like murderous intent and sadness, yet spoke to a young girl of her age. The conversation then shifted to Tsukishima Gunshou and Koito Shou(i), who were listening from behind a door. Konishi-san recalled wondering how much of Tsurumi Chuui’s words were truly sincere. Takemoto-san, on the other hand, inferred Tsukishima Gunshou’s feelings of relief from Tsurumi Chuui’s words, stating that he felt completely swept into the “Tsurumi Gekijou.”
Regarding the scene where Tsukishima Gunshou is visibly relieved by Tsurumi Chuui’s words and Koito Shou(i) pats his shoulder, both voice actors had recorded dialogue for it. However, those lines were ultimately not used. Takemoto-san supported this decision with a humorous comment: “I think cutting them was the right call. It was probably meant for Koito and me to just be quiet (laughs).” Konishi-san agreed, adding, “I think the intention was for there to be no sound.”

The next topic was about particularly impressive scenes and performances. Nomura Kenji-san stated that Kadokura’s actions amidst the chaos at the Sapporo Beer Factory were unforgettable. Takemoto Eiji-san then recalled that Maeno Tomoaki-san had to re-record Kirawushi’s “Waaah~” line in that scene. While his initial performance was deeply emotional and realistic, the director requested a flat, as-written delivery. Takemoto-san explained that this choice ultimately emphasized the adorable relationship between Kadokura and Kirawushi even more. Kobayashi Chikahiro-san brought up the relationship between Shiraishi Yoshitake and Kaizoku Boutarou, and Itou Kentarou-san, agreeing, commented that a certain scene involving Shiraishi and Boutarou truly moved him. He also expressed his deep sentiment that Shiraishi was drawn with significantly more dignity than usual in that particular sequence.

Subsequently, a Q&A session with questions from fans was held. Regarding characters whose future movements are intriguing, Nakata Jouji-san chose Ogata Hyakunosuke, whose thoughts are often inscrutable, while Takemoto Eiji-san picked Nikaidou Kouhei, who is obsessed with Sugimoto. Speaking of Nikaidou, Shiraishi Haruka-san even performed Asir(i)pa’s reaction when hit on the forehead by the chopsticks concealed in Nikaidou’s prosthetic arm. Next, when asked about moments when they feel deeply immersed in their characters, Takemoto-san discussed his understanding of the Russian language. He revealed that he can now distinguish between fluent and halting Russian, and for this recording, he deliberately performed without Russian supervision to reflect Tsukishima Gunshou’s proficiency level, earning applause from the audience for his dedication. Shiraishi Haruka-san confessed that she is no longer embarrassed to make funny faces in her daily life, expressing that she feels liberated by her role as Asir(i)pa.

Finally, just like in the first session, Kobayashi Chikahiro-san and Shiraishi Haruka-san conveyed messages of gratitude.
