Singer-songwriter Oishi Masayoshi posted a warning to fans that has garnered widespread agreement.
Oishi Masayoshi has performed theme songs for many anime series, including Ojō to Banken-kun, Dragon, Ie o Kau., Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun, and Gridman Universe.
Recently, Oishi updated his X account: “To everyone: I’m really happy when you call out to me in town! Thank you. I’m happy to do photos and autographs, and you can post on SNS, I’m free素材. But waiting in front of my hotel is scary even for me. Absolutely don’t do it to other performers either. From Masayoshi.”

Fans responded with agreement: “While grateful for his kindness in town, we must properly follow manners and rules!” “Everyone, don’t do it!” “That’s just scary and borderline criminal.” “We want to support him, but it’s important to have clear boundaries.” “Don’t trample on his kindness and love for fans by calling himself free素材.” “That’s definitely crossing the line.”
As noted in the comments, waiting for performers in places not intended by management or the performer themselves could potentially constitute stalking behavior.
We should be careful not to let our desire to meet them go too far and disrupt their lives or precious time.
