The official website for the Uma Musume: Pretty Derby franchise announced a new short anime titled Umayuru Full Gate! on Saturday. The short, produced by AtoriE, will premiere in September 2026 on the official Uma Musume YouTube channel PakaTube!.
Background
The original Uma Musume: Pretty Derby anime aired in spring 2018 with 13 episodes from P.A. Works. The fourth and final Blu-ray volume bundled three special episodes in December that year. The second season by Studio Kai aired in winter 2021 with 13 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed both seasons with subtitles. A short anime adaptation of Kumajet‘s Umayon 4-koma spin-off manga aired in summer 2020.
The first Umayuru short anime, produced by Scooter Films, aired in October 2022 with 24 episodes. The spin-off series Umayuru: Pretty Gray ran from April to May 2025 with 4 episodes. Both series premiered on PakaTube! with official English subtitles.
The anime series is part of Cygames’ Uma Musume: Pretty Derby mixed-media project, where anthropomorphized racing horses as girls with exceptional running capacity aim to win at the “Twinkle Series” sports event. The project includes songs, webcomics, and a smartphone game released in February 2021.
