Black Friday Meets Chuunibyou!
Get ready for Black Friday 2025, falling on Friday, November 28th! This massive sales event, traditionally held the day after Thanksgiving in the US, has been steadily gaining traction and becoming a recognized shopping extravaganza here in Japan too.
The phrase “Black Friday” often conjures up images related to the color black, which naturally brings to mind characters who embody the “chuunibyou” (literally “eighth-grade syndrome”) aesthetic. These characters often exhibit a wide range of eccentric behaviors; for example, they might insist on drinking black coffee despite secretly hating it, or proudly declare themselves masters of dark magic. Their dramatic flair and intense personalities make them truly unforgettable presences in any story!
