Hello Kitty Teams Up with Kohi-kan for an Adorable “Happy Bag 2026” Collaboration!

Sanrio’s beloved character, Hello Kitty, is embarking on an exciting first-time collaboration with the popular Japanese cafe chains, Kohi-kan and Kohi-kan Kura. Fans can look forward to a special collaborative item: the “Hello Kitty x Kohi-kan Happy Bag 2026.”

Kohi-kan, a pioneer in the cafe chain industry, first opened its doors in 1970, while the universally adored Hello Kitty made her debut in 1974. This shared history of being born in the same era provided the perfect common ground for this delightful collaboration to come to fruition.

This year’s Happy Bag is a limited-edition, special set that includes four fantastic items. It features a charming “Boa Drawstring Bag” crafted from two different materials, an “Original Pouch” adorned with illustrations of Kohi-kan’s menu items specially drawn to match Hello Kitty’s aesthetic, two convenient product exchange tickets, and one box of “Kohi-kan Blend Drip Bags.”

The Cozy Boa Drawstring Bag

Perfect for the winter season, the “Boa Drawstring Bag” blends fluffy boa material with lightweight nylon. It comes in two versatile colors, black and beige, designed to effortlessly complement any outfit. The bag’s rounded drawstring shape is both elegant and endearing, offering easy opening and closing with a simple pull of the string. Its clever design allows for two-way use: wear it as a chic shoulder bag by lengthening the strap, or carry it as a charming handbag by slipping your arm through the handle. Despite its compact appearance, a spacious bottom gusset ensures excellent storage capacity. At the center of the bag, a name tag, based on Hello Kitty’s 1970s debut design and infused with Kohi-kan’s unique ambiance, is stitched on. Availability and Exciting Campaign Details

Pre-orders for the Happy Bag begin on November 13, 2025, with in-store sales kicking off on December 18, 2025. Additionally, the Happy Bag will be available for purchase online starting December 21, 2025, at 8:00 PM JST.

Alongside the Happy Bag release, a special “Original Acrylic Carabiner” present campaign will also be held starting on the same date! For every 500 yen (tax included) spent on in-store dining, customers will receive one stamp. Collect five stamps, and you’ll receive one random “Original Acrylic Carabiner.” These delightful carabiners, perfect for attaching to bags or keys, come in a total of six types, including a secret design! They feature Hello Kitty’s iconic ribbon and Kohi-kan’s cup and saucer motifs, alongside illustrations of Hello Kitty and her twin sister Mimi in their Kohi-kan uniforms, and their friend Tiny Cham.
