Get ready, fans of Lupin the Third! A sensational new timepiece has arrived, drawing inspiration directly from the iconic watch worn by Lupin’s trusted companion, Jigen Daisuke. This fourth limited-edition model, dubbed the “Chronomaster Revival Jigen Daisuke Edition,” comes from the renowned Swiss luxury watch brand, Zenith. This highly anticipated watch will be limited to just 200 pieces.

A global pre-sale will kick off on November 19, 2025, at a special pop-up store located on the first floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Men’s Building in Tokyo, as well as through Zenith’s online boutique (Japan only). Following this exclusive release, the watch will become available worldwide on November 26 at Zenith boutiques and through their global online platform.

The Genesis of a Legend: Jigen’s Watch and Zenith’s Heritage

In 1969, Zenith made history by unveiling its revolutionary “El Primero” caliber, a movement that powered its very first timepiece, the iconic “A384.” Just two short years later, in 1971, the first TV anime series based on the hugely popular Lupin the Third manga began airing. This series quickly captivated audiences across Japan, and its popularity soon spread internationally. Among its vividly unique cast of characters was Jigen Daisuke, the incredibly stylish sharpshooter and Lupin’s indispensable companion.

Interestingly, Jigen was depicted wearing a Zenith watch on two separate occasions within the anime. While clearly modeled after the “A384,” this watch was a creation of the animators’ imagination and did not actually exist in reality. Adding to its mystique, it first appeared with a black dial and later with a silver dial.

Previous Homages: The Evolution of Jigen’s Timepiece

Decades later, Zenith decided to bridge the gap between fiction and reality, launching three limited-edition models that paid homage to Jigen’s legendary watch. Each release further solidified the connection between the anime icon and the prestigious watchmaker.

• The first edition, released in 2019, was a steel model limited to just 50 pieces. It featured a striking black dial adorned with gold leaf accents. Furthermore, a unique piece, meticulously crafted to mirror the anime’s depiction with smaller hour markers and a subtle tweak to the Zenith logo, was even put up for auction by Phillips.
• The second edition, a steel chronograph limited to 200 pieces, debuted in 2020. This model sported a distinctive “panda” dial, characterized by black counters set against a clean white background.
• Finally, the third edition, limited to 250 pieces and released in 2021, showcased an audacious asymmetrical dial design, boldly combining elements of both black and silver models.

The latest creation, the “Chronomaster Revival Jigen Daisuke Edition,” pushes this tribute even further. Its 37mm case is expertly crafted from micro-blasted matte black titanium. This meticulous matte finish on the lightweight yet incredibly durable titanium draws out nuanced dark grey tones, giving the watch a sophisticated and understated appeal.

The elegant beige dial provides a striking contrast with the black chronograph counters and tachymeter scale. The hands and applied markers, coated with beige Super-LumiNova, evoke a warm, vintage charm, perfectly blending classic aesthetics with modern performance.

At the core of this magnificent timepiece lies the “El Primero 400” caliber, a direct descendant of the legendary 1969 movement. Zenith, known for consistently developing and manufacturing its movements in-house, ensures exceptional precision. The intricate construction, comprising over 300 components, and its exquisite finishing can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back, which also features a distinctive silhouette of Jigen Daisuke himself, instantly recognizable to any fan.

The “Chronomaster Revival Jigen Daisuke Edition” comes equipped with the iconic “ladder” bracelet, originally designed by Gay Frères for Zenith in 1969. This distinctive bracelet, known for its lightness and comfort due to its alternating hollowed-out central links, was featured on some of the earliest “El Primero” models like the A384, A385, and A386. For this edition, the ladder bracelet is revived in a matte-finished titanium, beautifully embodying a fusion of tradition and contemporary ergonomics.
