Koara no Maachi is one of Lotte’s most iconic confections, featuring crispy biscuits filled with smooth, mellow chocolate. First launched in 1984, ahead of the first koalas arriving in Japan, the treat celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024. A major part of its enduring popularity comes from the 365 different koala designs adorning both the packaging and the biscuits themselves. It has been a beloved, long-selling product for consumers since its debut.

The “Koara no Maachi Room” at Lotte City Hotel Kinshichou is a special concept room created in collaboration with Lotte’s Koara no Maachi. In July 2025, the room underwent a delightful renewal, with everything from the wallpaper and ceiling to the curtains and even the bathroom being completely transformed to feature Koara no Maachi designs, immersing guests in a truly unique atmosphere.
Guests staying in this charming concept room will receive an acrylic cup (one per person) featuring Maachi-kun, the beloved Koara no Maachi character. Additionally, to commemorate the room’s renewal, each guest will also receive a special Lotte City Hotel Kinshichou original Koara no Maachi pack (one per person). When you book this plan, you’ll receive the “Koara no Maachi Hotel Original Tumbler,” which also went on sale in November, as an exclusive perk.
Your Very Own Koara no Maachi Tumbler
The “Koara no Maachi Hotel Original Tumbler” was created to celebrate the hotel’s 15th anniversary, born from the desire to offer guests a memento they could carry with them, keeping the memories of their stay alive. While Koara no Maachi features countless designs, 39 delightful patterns have been specially chosen for this tumbler.
You’ll find familiar hotel-themed characters like “Hotel Boy Maachi-kun” and “Hotel Girl Warutsu-chan,” alongside the mischievous twins, “Doremi-kun” and “Miredo-chan,” who are also depicted on the ceiling of the Koara no Maachi Room. This tumbler, complete with a handle, is incredibly practical and perfect as your personal bottle for picnics, walks, or even at the office. Each time you pick up the tumbler, the charming expressions of these characters are sure to bring a smile to your face.
For those who can’t book the plan, the tumbler is also available for purchase at the merchandise space near the front counter of the hotel.
