School Romantic Comedy “Haihara-kun no Tsuyokute Seishun New Game” TV Anime Adaptation Decided & Broadcasting April 2026! Main Cast Uemura Yuuto & Takao Kanon
The light novel Haihara-kun no Tsuyokute Seishun New Game by Amamiya Kazuki, published under HJ Bunko (Hobby Japan), is officially getting a TV anime adaptation. It has been announced that the series will broadcast starting April 2026 on TBS and other channels.

This exciting series follows the protagonist, Haihara Natsuki, who once spectacularly failed his high school debut, leading to a rather dull and “gray” period in his youth. However, fate gives him a second chance! Just before his high school entrance, he experiences a time leap, allowing him to restart his high school life. It’s a heartwarming “strong new game school rom-com” where he gets to rewrite his past mistakes and aim for the vibrant youth he always dreamed of.
To give us a sneak peek into Natsuki’s journey, a teaser PV has been released, showcasing his determined first step as he vows to transform his “gray youth” into a vibrant, rainbow-colored one after his time leap. Additionally, a beautiful teaser visual was unveiled, featuring the main heroine, Hoshimiya Hikari, smiling gently on a cherry blossom-filled path to school.
Alongside these exciting visuals, the main cast and staff have also been announced, promising a fantastic team to bring this story to life. Haihara Natsuki will be voiced by Uemura Yuuto, and Hoshimiya Hikari will be voiced by Takao Kanon. Hoshino Misuzu will serve as director, with Oochi Keiichiro handling series composition, Ono Hiromi as character designer, and Takao Sonosuke composing the music. Animation production will be handled by Studio Comet.

When I first heard the news about the anime adaptation, my heart swelled with surprise and joy. To all the readers who have supported me this far, and to everyone who has poured their efforts into the anime’s production, thank you so, so much.
I’ve been able to participate in script meetings and voice recording sessions as much as possible, and I’ve witnessed firsthand how it’s truly becoming a magnificent anime thanks to the wonderful staff and cast. I, myself, am eagerly looking forward to its broadcast.

“I don’t want to regret anymore.” This work begins with Haihara Natsuki’s powerful desire, beautifully depicting themes of friendship, romance, and the bonds with his companions. All the characters, starting with Haihara-kun himself, are so charming that watching them brought back memories of my own student days and the very atmosphere of classrooms and hallways. It’s a refreshing and heartwarming story that reminds you of the “colors of youth” that stay with you, no matter how old you get.
Impression of the Character and Enthusiasm for the Role
Haihara Natsuki is a protagonist who, despite repeatedly struggling, pours his entire effort into everything he can do in the present. I really admire his drive and straightforward actions. While he coolly analyzes his own inkya (introverted/gloomy) self, he also tries to put on a front or act cool in front of his classmates, which sometimes leads to his character breaking down! I’m striving to portray him as a lovable protagonist, Haihara-kun, by cherishing the wide range of his emotions. Please look forward to witnessing his growth!

Impression of the Work
I truly believe this is a dazzling and emotionally stirring coming-of-age story that anyone would want to experience. The romantic developments are packed with plenty of bittersweet “kyun” moments, so you’ll be able to absorb a lot of happy energy! Throughout the work, it’s not just bright and fun; the problems and feelings each character harbors are delicately portrayed, making it easy to empathize with any character’s perspective. I think it’s a series that will make you genuinely feel, “Youth is the best!”
Impression of the Character and Enthusiasm for the Role
Hikari is the school’s Madonna, a charming girl with a fluffy, naturally cunning cuteness. I believe Hikari’s appeal lies in how she occasionally reveals very human emotions amidst her sparkling perfection. Therefore, I will do my best to express Hikari’s delicate emotional shifts and cuteness, always keeping her humanity in mind!
