2025 Fall Anime: Your Love-At-First-Sight Female Characters? 3rd Place is Tendou Akane from ‘Ranma 1/2’, while Two Battle-Hardened Heroines Tie for 1st Place!
Anime!Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Who was your love-at-first-sight character from the 2025 Fall Anime?” This article presents the results for the female characters.
The 2025 Fall anime season has officially kicked off, and a month has already flown by! This season is brimming with a vibrant cast of characters who are truly bringing their stories to life. From the protagonists who serve as the face of each series to the supporting regulars who anchor the narrative, and even the memorable guest characters who leave a lasting impression despite fewer appearances, there’s a diverse array of personalities gracing our screens.
That’s why Anime!Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Who was your love-at-first-sight character from the 2025 Fall Anime?” We collected responses from 150 individuals during the survey period from November 8th to November 15th. The gender ratio was approximately 40% male and 60% female, with women making up a slightly larger portion of respondents. As for age, around 30% were under 19, while 20-somethings and 40-somethings each accounted for about 20%.

Strong and Adorable Heroines Dominate the Top Ranks!
First Place
Claiming the top spot in a tie are Kagura from 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei and Scarlett El Vandimion from Saigo ni Hitotsu dake Onegai shitemo Yoroshii deshou ka. Both characters shared the lead with approximately 7% of the total votes!
Kagura, a student of 3-nen Z-gumi in 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei, is an exchange student with an insatiable appetite. Readers absolutely adored her school-themed attire, with comments like: “In Gintama, she wore a Chinese dress, but in Ginpachi-sensei, she’s sporting a sailor uniform under a red tracksuit. And even with those thick-rimmed glasses, she’s just undeniably cute!” Her bottomless pit of a stomach, a charm that carries over from her original series, also garnered immense support: “I’m so jealous she can devour an entire rice cooker’s worth of food and not gain weight!”
In Saigo ni Hitotsu dake Onegai shitemo Yoroshii deshou ka, the story kicks off when the protagonist, Scarlett El Vandimion, has her engagement unfairly annulled. Readers were captivated by her unique appeal, saying things like: “I was instantly smitten by the contrast of a cute princess who’s surprisingly violent,” and “I admire her personality that loves nothing more than pummeling evildoers. It’s incredibly satisfying to see her deliver a swift punch to villainous nobles in the end!”
Third Place
Securing the third position is Tendou Akane from Ranma 1/2 (Season 2), just a hair’s breadth away from the top two!
Tendou Akane is the third daughter of the Tendou family and is engaged to Saotome Ranma by their parents’ arrangement. Fans gushed about her: “I love how she’s strong and kind, yet also a bit jealous and clumsy. It’s wonderful how she rushes to Ranma’s aid without a second thought when he’s in trouble.” Other comments highlighted her transformation: “She looks like a pure and elegant girl with long black hair, but her martial arts skills are exceptional. After she cut her hair short, she became even more cheerful and seeing her feelings grow for Ranma is just adorable!”
Interestingly, Shampoo also ranked in a tie for 6th place, with fans commenting: “Her devilishly charming personality is totally my type, and she’s super cute even when she turns into a cat.” Furthermore, the female form of Saotome Ranma even made an appearance at 11th place!
Other Noteworthy Comments!
For Athanasia de Alger Obelia from Aru Hi, Ohime-sama ni Natte shimatta Ken ni Tsuite, a fan commented: “I was drawn to Athanasia’s sparkling jewel eyes, her voice, and her expressions. Her relationship with her father, Claude, starts off rocky, but it’s great to see the love gradually grow between them.”

Regarding Iana Magnolia from Tensei Akujo no Kuro Rekishi, one reader said: “The protagonist got reincarnated as the villainess from a novel she wrote herself, full of chuunibyou delusions. I fell for her desperate efforts to avoid the assassination route!”
A fan expressed their admiration for Marie from Kikaijikake no Marie: “It’s so interesting to watch her desperately try to act like an android because she’d be immediately executed if her humanity were exposed. The guilt she feels for deceiving her master Arthur, yet her love for him being undeniably true, is truly heartwarming.”

And finally, for Kashiwada-san from Kao ni Denai Kashiwada-san to Kao ni Deru Oota-kun, a reader shared: “You can’t tell what she’s thinking due to her poker face, but her words are always straightforward, often making Oota-kun blush. She also has cute quirks, like being secretly bad with horror stories!” These diverse heroines certainly received a lot of votes!
This survey revealed that heroines with surprising gaps in their personality or unexpected traits are particularly popular. Perhaps the joy and surprise of discovering an unforeseen side of a character further enhances their charm!
