The thrilling main promotional video for the second cour of the TV anime `Enen no Shouboutai San no Shou` has finally been unveiled! Fans can also look forward to an electrifying new opening theme by Takanori Nishikawa and a powerful ending theme from Survive Said The Prophet. Adding to the excitement, the legendary voice actor Ootsuka Houchu has been announced as a new cast member.
`Enen no Shouboutai` is based on the manga by Ookubo Atsushi, serialized in “Weekly Shounen Magazine.” The story plunges us into a world where people suddenly burst into flames, transforming into monstrous “Homura Bito” (Infernals) and wreaking havoc. Our protagonist, Shinra Kusakabe, joins the Special Fire Force, a group dedicated to combating these fiery threats, as he strives to uncover the secrets behind this terrifying phenomenon. It’s a dark fantasy ablaze with action and mystery.
The TV anime adaptation first premiered with `Ichi no Shou` in 2019, followed by `Ni no Shou` in 2020, and the first cour of `San no Shou` aired in 2025. Now, the highly anticipated second cour of `San no Shou` is set to begin its broadcast on January 9, 2026, within the MBS/TBS/CBC “Animeism” block and other channels.
The newly released main PV offers a breathtaking glimpse into a world on the brink, shrouded in flames as the “Great Cataclysm” draws ever closer. Viewers can witness Shinra Kusakabe and his companions gearing up for a climactic final battle, determined to save their world from utter destruction.
The PV also depicts the state of the world engulfed in flames as the “Great Cataclysm” approaches, showcasing Shinra Kusakabe and his comrades preparing for the final battle to save it.
Powerful New Theme Songs to Fuel the Fire
The theme songs for the second cour have been officially decided! The opening theme, “Ignis -Igunisu-,” will be performed by the iconic Takanori Nishikawa, known for his incredible vocal range and intense performances. The ending theme, “Speak of the Devil,” will be delivered by the dynamic band Survive Said The Prophet.
Takanori Nishikawa shared his excitement, stating, “I hope you can feel a Takanori Nishikawa unlike any you’ve experienced before.” Meanwhile, Yosh, the vocalist of Survive Said The Prophet, expressed his deep gratitude: “Being in Japan, there are many opportunities to fall in love with anime/manga, but I am grateful from the bottom of my heart to have encountered a work I love this much and been given the opportunity to create a song for it!”
A New Force Joins the Ranks: Ootsuka Houchu as Shinmon Hibachi
In exciting cast news, the esteemed Ootsuka Houchu-san has been announced to voice Shinmon Hibachi, the former leader of the Asakusa Fire Brigade, which was the predecessor to the 7th Special Fire Force. His commanding presence is sure to bring this important character to life!

I am Takanori Nishikawa, and I will be performing the opening theme, “Ignis -Igunisu-“, for the second cour of `Enen no Shouboutai San no Shou`.
As the series finally heads towards its climax, I am honored and feel a great sense of responsibility to support its grand worldview and intense passion with my music. It’s truly a weighty role.
I teamed up with TeddyLoid-kun, whom I’ve known for a long time, and TOPHAMHAT-KYO-kun, with whom I’m collaborating for the first time, to create “Ignis -Igunisu-“. I hope to deliver a stimulating creation worthy of ushering in 2026.
The title “Ignis” is Latin for “burning power” or “inner heat.” In this final chapter, where everything from the Great Cataclysm, Adolla, and Rebirth is condensed, I aimed to sublimate both the “despair” and “hope” that people hold into sound, as a symbol of light that carves out the future.
Through “Ignis -Igunisu-,” I hope you can experience a Takanori Nishikawa unlike anything you’ve felt before.
Please look forward to this powerful strike, one that will not lose to the heat of `Enen no Shouboutai` as it reaches its final chapter.
