The source material is a school romance manga created by Kawahara Kazune—the acclaimed author behind series like Ore Monogatari!!. The story began its serialization in Bessatsu Margaret magazine back in June 2021. Published by Shueisha, the manga has been going strong with volume releases; the 12th volume was released on August 25, and the 13th volume is already scheduled to hit stores on December 24.
