It’s the end of the road for one of Shounen Jump+’s popular rom-com series. The official X (formerly Twitter) account for Yuu Hashimoto‘s manga 2.5-jigen no Ririsa (also known as 2.5 Dimensional Seduction) has announced that the series has officially concluded its run. The final chapter, number 201, was published on Saturday, wrapping up a story that has captivated readers for over six years.

About the Manga & Its Journey

Hashimoto first launched this unique blend of comedy, ecchi, and cosplay passion back in June 2019 on Shueisha’s Shounen Jump+ platform. The series quickly carved out a niche with its humorous take on otaku culture and the blurring lines between 2D love and 3D reality. Its success is solid, with a confirmed four million copies of its compiled volumes in print.

The 24th volume hit stores on October 3rd, and fans can look forward to one last collectible. The 25th and final volume is scheduled for release on February 4, 2026, giving everyone a chance to own the complete story.

The Anime Adaptation

The manga’s popularity naturally led to an anime adaptation. The prolific studio J.C.Staff handled production, with the first season of 24 episodes airing in the Summer 2024 season. The good news for anime fans is that the story isn’t over on screen—a second season is currently in production. The anime is available for streaming with subtitles on HIDIVE.

For international readers, Seven Seas Entertainment secured the English license under their Ghost Ship imprint back in June 2021. The English release is steadily catching up; the 16th volume went on sale on November 18, and the 17th volume is slated for release on February 17, 2026.

What’s It All About?

The story follows Okumura, the president of his school’s manga club and a self-proclaimed devotee of 2D characters—specifically, a captivating manga heroine named Ririseru. His declaration of having “no interest in real girls” is seriously challenged when a new member, Ririsa, joins the club. Ririsa is a passionate cosplayer whose favorite character to bring to life is none other than Okumura’s beloved Ririseru. Drawn into becoming her photographer, Okumura finds his 2D ideals clashing and blending with the very real, enthusiastic, and fetish-friendly world of a 3D girl, leading to a hot-blooded romantic comedy.
