The official website for the legendary Keroro Gunsou anime series has dropped some huge news, announcing a brand-new television anime adaptation set to premiere in Fall 2026. Alongside the reveal came a fresh teaser visual, signaling the start of a new mission for our favorite alien amphibians.

For those new to the ranks, Keroro Gunsou (also known in some regions as Sgt. Frog) is based on the long-running comedy sci-fi manga by Mine Yoshizaki. The series has been a staple of anime comedy since its first adaptation aired nearly two decades ago.

This announcement is a major deal for fans. The original manga began its serialization in Shounen Ace way back in November 1999 and is still going strong. Kadokawa published its 34th volume in August 2024, with the 35th volume scheduled to land on December 26.

The anime legacy is equally impressive. The first TV anime, produced by the legendary studio Sunrise, aired a staggering 358 episodes from Spring 2004 to Spring 2011. Following that, a short-format TV series simply titled Keroro premiered in Spring 2014. Let’s not forget the platoon’s successful silver screen invasions, with five theatrical movies released between 2006 and 2010.

This new series promises to bring the hilarious, gadget-filled, and perpetually failing world-conquest antics of Sergeant Keroro and his colorful crew to a whole new generation.
