Awesome News: Undead Unluck Season 2 is Officially on the Way!
Fans of the wild ride that is Undead Unluck, rejoice! The anime’s official website has just made it official—a second season is in production. To celebrate, they revealed a special new illustration drawn by the manga’s original creator, Yoshifumi Tozuka. Talk about a hype way to share the news!
Looking Back at the First Season & Production Team
The first season of this chaotic action-comedy was brought to life by David Production. It ran for 24 episodes from Fall 2023 right through Winter 2024, covering a significant chunk of the source material. If you missed it, the series was streamed with English subtitles and a dub on Disney+.
On top of that, remember that one-hour television special, Undead Unluck: Winter-hen? That was produced by E&H Production and aired on December 26, serving as a nice bridge or bonus for eager viewers.
The Manga That Started It All
Undead Unluck began as a manga serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump back in January 2020. Yoshifumi Tozuka wrapped up the series earlier this year on January 27, with Shueisha publishing the 27th and final volume on April 4. That’s a solid run for a series that quickly carved out its own unique niche in the Jump lineup.
English Release Details
For international fans, VIZ Media secured the English license for the manga in October 2020. They’ve been steadily releasing the volumes, with the 22nd volume hitting shelves on November 18. Mark your calendars, because the 23rd volume is already scheduled for a January 20, 2026 release.
