Mark your calendars, Sanrio fans! A cute new collaboration featuring the beloved character Cinnamonroll (also known affectionately as Cinnamon) is coming to the Kura Sushi conveyor belt sushi chain across Japan. The campaign kicks off on January 9, 2026, bringing a heap of original goods and special menu items to the table. As a sweet preview, reservations for a collaboration-exclusive ehomaki (lucky direction roll) will start even earlier, on January 4.
Who is Cinnamonroll?
For the uninitiated, Cinnamonroll is a hugely popular member of the Sanrio character family, even winning the Sanrio Character Grand Prix five times in a row. This adorable little guy is a white puppy boy born on a fluffy cloud far up in the sky. One day, he floated down and was found by the big sister at the Cafe Cinnamon, where he now lives. His most charming feature is his tail, which curls just like a cinnamon roll!
Win Exclusive Goods with “Bikkura Pon!”
The heart of this collaboration is a chance to snag Kura Sushi-exclusive original goods that you can’t get anywhere else. By playing the in-store game “Bikkura Pon!“—which you can challenge by placing five finished plates into the table’s plate return slot—you could win prizes. Lucky players will receive goodies like “Figure Straps” featuring Cinnamonroll and his friends like Espresso and Cappuccino dressed in sushi-themed pajamas!

Starting January 4, fans can reserve the “Cinnamonroll Ehomaki 3-Pack Set”. This take-out exclusive comes wrapped in a special film printed with the main characters and includes an original sticker. It’s the perfect way to enjoy Setsubun with a dose of kawaii!
