Winter Warmth with Hello Kitty and Friends: Sanrio Garden Cafe’s New Seasonal Menu
The Sanrio Characters Garden Cafe in Ueno, Tokyo, has unveiled a delightful winter menu, available for a limited time from December 18, 2025, until around the end of February 2026.
The new offerings feature a total of six special items, headlined by the “Garden Basket Afternoon” set where you can choose a Sanrio character mousse and croissant. Popular items like “Hanito®”, the Korean-inspired “Tung Waffle”, and the incredibly popular “Pompompurin’s Purin Man” steamed bun (which debuted this autumn) will also continue to be sold.
Featured Menu Items
The “Garden Basket Afternoon Chocolat & Berry” is a voluminous set featuring a basket and a savory plate. You can select your favorite character mousse from eight options—Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Pompompurin, Pochacco, Cinnamoroll, Hangyodon, and Little Twin Stars—along with a croissant.
The “With Friends♪ Choco and Berry Hanito” is a hearty dish that uses an entire loaf of shokupan (Japanese milk bread). You can enjoy it with a flavor-changing framboise sauce.
The “Pompompurin’s Purin Man” is a custard-filled steamed bun perfect for the cold season. This superstar item, which appeared this autumn, has generated over 330,000 total impressions on the cafe’s SNS posts, making it a major topic of conversation.
This popular bun is also available for takeout. You can purchase it without a reservation, even if you’re not dining in at the cafe.
The “Seasonal Tung Waffle ~Chocolat, Chocolat, Chocolat~” is an adorable pink and black Tung Waffle. It’s a choco-overload with chocolate sauce, chocolate cookies, and chocolate ice cream—a dream for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Warming Winter Drinks
The seasonal drinks include two options: the “Seasonal Float: Chocolat Chai”, a cinnamon-scented chai latte topped with chocolate ice cream, and the “Seasonal Hot Tea: Sweet Orange Tea”, with a faint sweetness and delicious orange flavor. Each can be topped with a character monaka wafer of your choice.
